Does anyone know where I can download a file converter to convert WAV files to MP3's and WMA files (so that I may put them on a cd)? thanks for the help

iTunes can do it. Just make sure that you set the import encoder to WAV (Preferences -> Advanced -> Importing).
This is on a Mac, but I guess you can do the same with the PC version of iTunes. And it is free too ;-)
