I know a lot of Hungarian fans hope for this - but this is my understanding from a fan/friend from Budapest. The Stones cost a city (or country) a lot to play and their ticket prices, while cheaper than in the US, are still more expensive than other acts.
If the Hungarian organizers book the Stones, it means that people will only buy tickets for the Stones, and not buy for other shows (they cannot afford them all) so the venues and whoever else make money off just that one show (including vending, hotels, restaurants, general economy, etc.). If the promoters bring several acts (which may total the price of just the Stones alone), they have 3x as much money going to the local economy. Thoughts?
I hope the Stones play Ireland next year. But not Slane Castle. This is easily the worst venue in the country. And the wrong venue for the Stones. The average concert-goer at Slane is 15, drunk as a bag, high as a kite and is not willing to wait 12 hours in rain (usually) to be kept waiting for The Stones. They should play Belfast (hopefully) or The Point, Croke Park or Lansdowne Rd. But definitely NOT Slane!

Agree with every word of that. However, with a European tour of no more than about 15-25 shows projected, you can bet that they'll all be outdoors.

Oh no, Shidoobee promised that Cohl said arenas and theaters, she would not make such a thing up, would she? I´m just waitíng for them to be announced.
Some solid news on Europe 07 would be very nice to have soon! I do hope they allow people time to arrange travel plans and time to book Hotels for these supposed shows! Fred Hardin Pleased to meet you........
They don't care about people who travel. The shows are planned for people who live locally. Most people who buy tickets don't buy flights and travel, they simply commute by car or bus or tram or metro. Only superfans and hard core fans travel. They are few and they have to suffer the pain of waiting, buying flights and travel that may be cancelled etc. Such is life.
That's true. But, I'll tell you something that I have learned -- it's better to be stuck with non-cancellable reservations in Hawaii in November than in Vancouver. If I head to Europe this summer, I'll be heading for cities that I want to be in, whether the Stones are there or not.

Absolutely! And maybe we can upset some of the moral majority? (Especially the norwegian one) That would be fun! But you know us, Beast, we are good guys thru and thru. As long as I get a little Midnight Rambler without interference, I´ll be alright, as you know. You were most understanding in the 100 club this summer, I owe you one, and Paulywaul too.
