Pity your magnanimity hasn't extended to the stage of getting over it. I'm happy I saw a great show and if I'm proud it that's I'm not sitting around three weeks later still griping about the one that didn't happen.

No I will not be yearning for 20 overplayed warhorses a year from now. I will be perfectly content to remember a great band I saw many times put on a great show. I would'nt go see them, just to say I saw the stones again. There are plenty of recordings of the stones in their prime throughout thier careers I could listen to.

Logie, I'm so glad I'm not the only one around here with a touch of Alzheimers. Beast keeps going on about this great setlist last night ..... what a load of bollards. They played twenty versions of Satisfaction last night, she's dreaming again !!

Wait a moment ... Satisfaction's NOT off Emotional Rescue - is it ? Good heavens, this Alzheimers is getting worse I'll swear !!

Actually, case very much still wide open. You're OBVIOUSLY a very principled person. Fine, you stuck to your principles, boycotted the rescheduled show, and by all accounts - missed a great one. Beast and I elected not to do that, so we went along and had a rip roaring time at a great show with a killer setlist, at least WE thought so. There's no winners here, You did what was obviously right for you, Similarly we did what's right for us. The only thing that's perhaps worth pointing out is that you don't seem overly happy with the decision you made. So maybe next time they throw a show - for WHATEVER reason - you'll swallow this ridiculous pride of yours and go along on the rescheduled date ?

Case NOW closed !!!

you call that a killer setlist, thats your opinion man , last nites set has been the soup of the day for this leg of the tour, you have to say you liked it, you have no choice or you look foolish for wasting your time and money

Loving Cup, She Was Hot, All Down The Line, She's So Cold, Connection, Under My Thumb, Ain't Too Proud To Beg ... I'd say that makes for an above average setlist.

Loving Cup, She Was Hot and Connection have only been played a handful of times on this tour and only since recently, while the others have been played throughout the tour, but not frequently enough in my opinion. If the makeup of every setlist was similar to this one I wouldn't have many complaints.

can't help but wonder why they're back to opening every show with JJF . . .

you can't catch me!

Great set list! Some of you must be f#@*ed!

Re: Tonite's AC set - reprinted from Shidoobee

The setlist moaning is really getting out of hand here... I mean, how many shows must one attend before he heard 60% of the songs they played? I would have been in heaven! The ones here who go see 60 shows per tour might perhaps remember that they are acting like the guys who go see twenty times the same movie - yes, it's the same movie, it's the 2006 Rolling Stones tour, you know, not the November tour. OK, so I am eagerly waiting X-men 4, but I know I have to wait, and I don't rush into every cinema to see X-men 3 and complain that I have not seen anything new.

The original complaints were that tours were too similar to one another: now you get quite a few songs that were not there before, and they are careful not to play too many same songs when they return to a city... they're doing their job. It could be one more unknown song, one less... big deal, honestly.
But to complain that they play the same songs a month in a row is just insane.

The moaners should blame themselves for investing millions in following a tour that is designed to visit you once in your area. You eat too many candies and you're sick, well get on a healthy diet.

Me thought it was a quite good setlist too. But anyway, the main point is how these songs were played. The shows I saw this year, were terrific, even though there weren't any rarities there.

....well...for those of us who were ...ahem....actually there in AC (!!!) and saw a smoker of a show....Loving Cup, SHe was hot, and She's so Cold, Connection, You Got the Silver, a smoking version of Under My Thumb, All Down the Line, Ain't too Proud to Beg and one of the best versions of Satisfaction I've ever heard - all were more than worth the price of admission!!!!!!!!!!!The rest of the set was mere icing on the cake and also extremely good.

Keith was on fire, happy and smiling, Charlie played incredibly well (as always), Ronnie was solid...and Mick...Mick jeeezuz....christ in a sidecar...he played and danced like a man posessed!!!

To all who missed the show or couldn't get there, I'm truly sorry cause it was terrific! Really. To those who are running it down who weren't there...go pound sand (or your keyboard as usual) and keep dreaming of that "perfect" setlist....

STONES RULE!!!

for the luv of the lawd - nobody's "running it down" - discussions about setlists vs. performance are completely legit....and you can have a legit opinion whether you were there or not. So there.

you keep dreamin too , cause that selist aint perfect either, break it down
9 warhorses out of 19, connection and she was hot are what you paid for last nite, all the others have been played many many times before other than the 9 warhorses which have been done into the ground, btw keiith smiles at every show
dont act like thats a big deal, who cares if they were smiling anyway, i would rather they do a great set with no warhorses and not be smiling, wtf man

an amazing show with a great setlist...I've seen them 10 times since 1981, and had the pleasure to hear 5 songs I'd never heard performed before (ATPTB, SWH, LC, YGTS,and Connection).

Best Brown Sugar ever...must've gone on for 8 minutes with Ronnie and Keith weaving like crazy.

Read the reviews over at Shidoobee and right here...clearly one of the best shows of the North American ABB tour.

see thats my point, its people like you that enjoy an 8 min version of brown sugar when they could done 2-3 other gems instead of the 5000th version of brown sugar, thats the problem that casual fan thinking

Mellilo it sounds like you're arguing with someone who doesn't recycle because you are worried about global warming or something. What, for Christ's sake, is wrong with enjoying an 8min version of Brown Sugar?

Are you sure you are listening to the music, or are you just busy with your stats??

read my post clearly, i believe i explained what is wrong with an 8 min version of bs

yes I got your point. You think you deserve 2 oranges instead of one grapefruit and that makes you think 4tylix has a problem. Because you're fed up with grapefruits. No worry, I read...

if you like 8 min versions of BS, it would stand to reason that perhaps a 45 minute version would be the ultimate....wait, no, let's have a 200-minute version.... HA!

so i guess you would buy a book you already have just because it has a different cover

I'm no casual fan and been on this board long enough to know who just tries to get under people's skin.

Still, if you can't imagine what a reinvented warhorse might sound like, I feel sorry for ya mates. Mainly cause you were NOT there.

By the way...name 3 gems that you'd like to hear or write a dream setlist...but it would be a dream only...the truly casual fan is the one who is never pleased with them, constantly whines, and likely doesn't enjoy the Stones nearly as much as he enjoys complaining here about them here.

The committed ones atttend shows, enjoy them, and take them for what they are...that is, the BEST.

Now go ahead...pick that apart too...have fun boys. smiling smiley

I am going to see them Wed. in LA, fully expecting a great show, and I am fully aware this could be my last show. This will be show 19 for me. I don't know what else they can show me anymore?
