I am really tired of all the complainers and whiners on this board about the Stones, especially about the set lists, the greed, when they are going to hang it up, much more.
I love the Stones
I love the stadium shows as they add great theatrics (I also think their current light/ing show is the best ever)
I love the arena shows
I would love to see a club show
I enjoy most all the set lists, some more than others, and sure I would like to see them do a wider variety of both old and new songs, but I don't hate and abandon them for it
The possibility of retirement disturbs me, but I don't obsess on it
I think Ronnie's playing on this tour has been very good (perhaps his best ever), especially some of the solos (i.e. Sway at Twickenham I)
I think Mick Taylor was great, perhaps better technically than Ronnie (as Ronnie has said) but why go into a frenzy over this when he has been gone for a while (and don't forget when Ronnie first played with them how the other Stones said he gave them new life or new energy with his personality and this is perhaps still true)
I do have some standing to make these statements as, though not as much as some of you, I have seen them 30 times since 1975 and have been a big fan since 1971.
Anyway, I can add to this, but maybe later.
Now tear me apart. I will respond if I feel like it.
