OT: Slate Commentator Dismissing Cash as "kitsch"

This was posted a week or so ago, but it seemed dsimssive of the man's legacy, and it stuck in my craw. Somehow, the Slate commentator made Cash's final recordings be portrayed as tasteless examples of kitsch, as if the man was taking advantage of his own impending death to elevate his own standing as legend.

This article was one of the worst examples of kicking a dead man's legacy that I have ever read.
