Elmo WAS being sarcastic. Hey, wait, isn't that a nice way of saying being a smart-ass?

Are any of the original band still backing him, or have they all retired? Anybody notable playing with him these days?

Alice has not played with any of the original band-members since the Billion Dollar Babies tour. At least one of the original members has expired since the. (Dunaway or Bruce?)

It was Glen Buxton, the lead guitarist, that passed away several years ago. His original band released one album after they split up in 74. I believe drummer Neal Smith is a realtor now.
Only member of his current band that I know is drummer Eric Singer, who is also with KISS. Read here that guitarist Ryan Roxie recently left the band.

In the boxset Life and Crimes of AC, there is a version of Hitchhike that they recorded in the 60's and AC said that it was them trying to copy the Rolling Stones. Guess he must have had Out of Our Heads.

Wow, I didn't know you listened to anyone else!

I am thinking of hitting Phoenix since I missed Alice in 2005/2006. Seen him several times. First time at the Pantages Theatre in 1990 on the "Trash" tour. The infamous Mr Freezer drove.

Gor for Phoenix Dan. I was going to do, but got lucky with double shots at Louisville/Ryman and Atlantic City/HOB.

Stones better bring their A-game!
