As we are on a Stones fan board (some us us a lot), just wondering who here considers The Rolling Stones their favorite band. Obviously, they are up there in or near your top, if your frequent participator here or if your just out to break balls. I'm not one to defend them on everything or think questioning or criticizing is being unloyal but sometimes I wonder reading the posts of where people place this greatest group.

Do you like em or are they your all time best?

For me there is nobody even close. I like others but don't seek endless bootlegs, read discussions on them etc.

favourite artist? Not so sure. I like Dylan and Springsteen as much as i like the Stones. Who my favourite is depends on my mood. However, I've seen more Stones shows and my collection is bigger than it would be for any other act

Just as Gazza, Dylan is big to me, so is Bowie....of course there's other good ones too.
But nothing reaches the Rolling Stones, as a band at least.
I wish they didn't do Always Suffering though.

Absolutely YESSSS, been a fan since i saw Mick live on the television running across stage wearing the long purple jacket singing "START ME UP!!" at Toronto Rocks in 2003....ran and got my dad and said "Daddy! whos that...??"....he replied "why that's mick jagger son, and they are the Rolling Stones" and i was amazingly floored from then on.

This is really a silly thread, ya gotta admit.

However, I was given a jolt when Erik Snow actually mentioned me -- Enya? Yeah, if she asked, I wouldn't mind being in-her LOL.

Seriously, though, her voice is haunting and beautiful.

Now, back to business -- the Stones are definitely number one for me, with many many others ranking close behind.

However, this whole thing is a classic example of begging a question, and I think it's a little strange.

Nevertheless, I responded, so does that make me strange, too? (wink)

It may seem silly to those here because of their passion but there are 4-6 regulars here who don't consider them in high regard. I'm taking confession for anyone willing to come out of the closet on this!

I don't mean being semicritical, frustrated or critical even half the time. But constant negative stuff is like why bother. I don't spend my free time on Duran Duran boards stating constant trashing of them.Why ? Know what I Mean.

Last chance for anyone to admit they really don't like the Stones but are here to agitate! Honesty shall set you free

yes, the greatest band and, I think they also are the greatest artists. I love them since 1964 and I think a Stones ticket is cheap, compared to cars, houses, holidays or so much things people buy without counting the precious dollars. What they give us at every show is not material thing. I think they're really generous and so human (and animals). I think exile and goddess are unique (just like ABB is). It's the reason why they never deceived me.

The Stones are up there in the Champions League. Then I have placed Bowie, Lou Reed, Bob, Bruce and Iggy in division 2. (2 divisions beneath).
As a collector, I give priority to Stones-stuff. (insane amounts of money has been spent on albums, boots, merchandice through the years). I also collect Bowie, Iggy and Lou Reed - but only CDs. (sold my vinyl collection last summer - no, NOT my Stones vinyl collection).
There will never be anyone like The Stones. When it's over - they're gonna leave a giant hole in my heart and in the music business.

I'm with you Gazza on this one - they're my top three,but the Stones would have to be number one if I had to choose.
