Too Tight Is Tight!

Along with SSMC, Too Tight is the the best "rocker" of the post-Voodoo Era. (does that count as an era yet?) To the experts, how many times was it played live? Could they pull it off?

Comments are welcome - JumpingJackGreg, I'm looking your way!

Great song, rather forgotten!

Overrated... starts out exciting with a great guitar sound, but loses steam. Sort of like "SSMC" in that respect, actually...

Agreed that it is an overlooked gem. It would be great to hear it live.

Love this track. One of my favorite Stones lyrics is "...I've seen it all a thousand times, I sung that song, I wrote that f***in' book." Quite autobiographical.

I don't go prancing about it, but I don't think Bridges is a good album.
There are about 5 good songs, BUT "Too Tight" is definately among THE top of THE Top 5. First time I listened to the album, I was certain this was going to be a helluva live song. I'm very surprised they didn't try it on stage.
It's a cool pop-rocker, and it swings, just like "Don't Stop".

Considering how many songs they did live from Bridges it is surprising that wasn't one of them.

Think Saint of Me is the best post-Voodoo tune, but TT would be second. Great guitars with a tasteful solo (RW?). I also don't understand why this has never been played live.

One of my favs from B2B for sure. Had the opening of this track on my home phone voice-mail intro for many weeks back in the day!

Solo very much sounds like Keith.

I really LOVE Too Tight too. I haven't got a clue why it was never played live.

I just love the intro, the loud guitar and especially the first hit on the snare drum, really really hit hard!

Haha thank you Nikkibong for thinking about me.

It is indeed a badass mf-ing rockin tune. And I agree with KSIE that Saint of Me is still the best post-voodoo tune, and in my opinion, the best since Tattoo You.

I think Too Tight should've been played live, and I think Low Down is another bad ass tune from B2B that should've been played more. Both of them have classic written all over them. Both could become theater/club favorites if the Stones ever do more theater shows. I can understand not doing Too Tight in a stadium b/c it's too rough and it's not "big" enough to fill a stadium. But in a smaller stadium I would love to hear this gem. Shit, I'd like to hear all of B2B in a club setting, how cool would that be? An all post-80's show in a theater with maybe a max of 2 warhorses would be sweet.

Not much of a claim.

It's an interesting album, but voting a song "top 3" of @ 15 on a 35-year-old band's album is not much of a claim.

"Too Tight" sounds like Mick singing a Keith song.

too tight is a good song but too tough is much better! for me neither too tight nor SSMC rank among their best songs of the post VL era! From b2b i prefer Gunface and Saint of me, and from ABB SSMC is among of the few songs i donĀ“t care too much!

I'm still wondreing if "Post-Voodoo" is an era. because"Post-SW" is most definetly an era. One era ended with Didrty Work. Then came the big return in 89 with SW, the new Live shows, the new expanded band etc. If Post VL is an era then it means there would be a mini era in between from SW to VL; that seems a little silly. I say, extend the post VL era to include SW.

"...no longer shall you trudge 'cross my peaceful mind."

I always thought of this as an average Stones-song. On the other hand, I quite often catch myself humming the melody. In other words, I am hooked again.

Great rocker, good to see it getting talked about here. I also love Gunface, these two would be great to hear live but seeing how they rarely perform deep album cuts from their newer albums I doubt we'll ever see it on stage.
