Here's one from the "who gives a sh*t file".

I just realized that I've been sitting at work with my headphones, but never even got the chance to turn my music on to listen to a single song. At least it keeps the annoying chatterbugs away.

Another week, some different sh*t, some the same:
1. Wailers: "Catch a Fire" & "Burnin'" (both deluxe 2 cd editions, the latter has a great live cd from '73 w/ Bob Marley & Tosh)
2. Hall & Oates: Essential' - used to loathe H&O then a nostalgic soft spot for the philly blue-eyed soul of 'Sara Smile' led to a re-evaluation & comp, found I dig more than half. Well crafted infectious pop soul, sometimes even sonically interesting exploratory production ("Your Imagination," "Possession Obsession," etc are worthy of good post Siren Roxy Music/Ferry)
3. Ronnie Hawkins & the Hawks - "Roulette Years" Robbie rips it up! Levon sings 'Hayride' & more!
4. Jeff Beck Group - "Beck-Ola" w/ bonus tracks...wilder, angrier, more chaotic than anything the more calculating Zep would do - the Stooges meet Led Zep? Wood's bass is simply deadly...Rod 'sings', on the careening "Spanish Boots," if I hear right, "Worked in a Spanish haberdashery/Restoring 16th century tapestries"
5. Stones - ABB, 'Mannish Boy'& the 3 non-lp trax from "Sucking In The 70s,"
& my "Flowers" which programs "Sad Day" & "Who's Driving My Plane" in place of the 3 reruns (Lady Jane, LSTNT, Ruby Tuesday), Voodoo Lounge.
6. Dresden Dolls - 2004 debut. Great songwriting, recommended.
7. Allman Bros - Idlewild South
8. Beach Boys - Sunflower/Surf's Up 2-fer (skip the Tree song)
9. Richard Lloyd - "Alchemy" which unlike Verlaine's "Dreamtime" is actually back in print!
10. Captain Beefheart - "Lick My Decals Off, Baby" (love 'Doctor Dark' & 'I Love You Big Dummy') & "Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller)" (check 'Love Lies')

hehehe - since it's a warhorse, maybe they'll start playing it in concert.

"Which album is this one off of, Beggar's Banquet, I dunno? Oh - that's right it's not a song. Ok, cheers, mate. This one's for Cindy C!"
