The Who live

I know this aint about the Stones bit if your like me you could do with out reading the moaning on this board at the mo......

Went and saw the Who live in Bristol on wednesday...... highly recommended!
Zutons supported who rocked the place.
The Who aint quite The Who anymore but Townshends absolutely on fire!!!!
This is the third time I've been 88, 92 96 and its the best he's ever played. The riffing during the My Generation jamm is mind blowing. The Tommy segment just rocks!!
Daltry's looking abit craggy but the pipes are good, I aint convinced about Zak cause he just doesn't attack the drums enough whilst Pino does a solid job....

Glad you enjoyed it. A bit frustrating for me that theyre playing so many shows this summer and its too close to the Stones...grrr

Hopefully we'll get a return run of shows next year

saw them in Birmingham 2 years ago and was amazed at how good Daltrey's voice was, as I'd thought his pipes were gone. Townshend was absoltely breathtaking

as well as being able to buy the Cds and DVDs of each show, footage of each show is being broadcast live on that website you mentioned - plus Sunday's Hyde Park show is being webcast in full!

Saw them in Brighton a couple of weekends ago, the second show of this their current tour. As you say, Townshend is on fire and Daltrey's powers largely undiminished. Glad you enjoyed them. to anyone "thinking" about seeing them. Stop thinking and start moving ........ in the general direction of the nearest venue near YOU !! They're not to be missed.

Try getting a ticket for the Who on ebay??? I got mine for £28.....bargain or what!
And yes, Townshend was breathtaking! Especially when he's jamming/riffing....

There are rumors that the Who will open for the Stones on the new U.S. Tour, alternating with AC/DC.

Hey Straycat, I was at Leeds (Harewood House) as well! I didn't see you there! It was f**king awesome - Townshend is STILL a guitar god in my book!

Hi Ian,

Yes Pete was brilliant. Best Who gig (since 82) I've seen.I took my 10 year old aspiring gutarist son to show him how it should be done. He was impressed !

I missed you at Springhead last night (bloody late shift).Hope you had a good one.

Why not? The opening acts on this tour have been somewhat lacking, in my opinion. It would be amazing to see the Stones and the Who or AC/DC at the same show for the price of one ticket and not two. I actually wouldn't feel so bad about the outrageous ticket prices if they had opening acts like those. Can you imagine if Pete and Roger joined the Stones onstage for a song? Now that would be an historic moment.

Have Pete or Roger every joined The Stones during a concert or vis-versa?

I don't think so???????????????????

don't give me that ole one two, one two three four

The Who Rule!!!!!!!!!!
Its very unlikely they would open for Stones. Those tickets would be crazy expensive. Since Pete went back to the electric he has gotten better in my opinion. He rocked in 2000. With the death of JAE he has to do more. He played better in 2002, then 2000. Their music is still great and still performed with meaning. I think Zach is very good and have no clue how that other dude was not impressed. MSG in October or November is when they come near me.
