In case this thread goes on very long, and in the end the case seems to be that all bands are mentioned at least once as overdue, I have a little advise, a band that is far from overdue, although they are nearly as old as the Stones:

The good old Golden Earring.

Inspired, full of energy, hard and loud, rock'n roll, lot's of new material in their shows, reviving elder less known songs, sets of 2 hours at least.
So if you are Dutch, or you are in the netherlands: visit one of their gigs. They play about three times each week.

ZZ Top played Europe only a year or two back didn't they?

Last time I saw them was at the Birmingham Academy, supporting the 'Mescalaro' album, surely couldn't have been more than a couple of years ago.

Aha, I see... Overdue, in the terms of: WHEN DO THEY COME BACK PLEASE!! and not in the terms of: they are way too old to tour. Hm, my Golden Earring post did probably not make a lot of sence...

To make things clear: I thought this thread was about bands who shouldn't be allowed to tour anymore, and thought, I should give a positive recommendation of a band that is still touring and great to watch live. As I said in the earlier post:

Inspired, full of energy, hard and loud, rock'n roll, lot's of new material in their shows, reviving elder less known songs, sets of 2 hours at least.

PS i'd better call it al day and stop reading Kant/Burke (examinations), they f*ck up my mind as you can see.

AC/DC
ABBA (yeah, I said it!)
Talking Heads

Two of these bands are no longer together but with the climate of reunion tours going on it seems that the tours are due.

Yeah, he's all right, I just miss the old days when David Lee would front the band. I know that's before your time Reptile, but he was wild. He would talk to the crowd a lot and work us to a frenzy. Plus, the songs from his era of Van Halen are my favorites, not Sammy's. Just my opinion, of course.

I see your point in one way, but David Lee was cool at the time, but imagine what he's like now. The guy can't grow up. Plus he is said to be a really annoying guy.

And Hagar's such a good singer and fits Van Halen perfectly. But, you're right, he's not as rock 'n' roll.
