Well, Mick Taylor standing in for a recovering Keith probably wouldn't work, since Taylor mainly plays lead guitar and Keith mainly plays rhythm guitar.
Something like Ron Wood standing in for Keith and Mick Taylor standing in for Wood in return could work, but apart from that they wouldn't be the same band then anymore, I don't think Keith would approve of that.
May Keith get well completely, and take all the time he needs for it.
Taylor is the most talentuous artist this band ever had. He could walk in the shoes of Ron Wood in the instant. But history is history. It's better like this. Those magnificent solos are in the marble. Let them there.
If for the sake of argument Jagger announced the tour would resume on June 8th in Horsens would the entire audience walk out if suddenly Mick Taylor appeared on stage?
If "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" were the opening number, (it'll never happen), I'd say a whole lot of fans would stay in their seats.
Considering Keith's condition and recovery process anything is possible.
I cannot imagine a more graceless end of the band´s career than letting Mick Taylor take over Keith´s position.
On the other hand, if Keith would allow Mick Taylor to join the band at some occasions, and supposed Mick T. plays at least only half as good as when he was a Rolling Stone, then I certainly would die for a ticket to such concert. What to do with Ron on stage in the meantime? Give him some coffee, or just put his guitar low in the mix. I´m sorry to say: His playing has become totally insignificant. Booze ruined this man.
Do the girls still scream, when you perform on stage? KR: Not on stage, but when I perform, yeah.
I can not believe the stupid questions people ask on this board Mick Taylor will never play with the Stones again and he sure would not stand in for Keef if Keef can't play the Stones don't play simple as that. So please no more dumb questions.
