I just got an e-mail from a friend in Buenos Aires telling me about a movement to boycott or leave Shidoobee because of all the bad threads about misinformation, etc...

Anyone hear about this?

More information, CDs, DVDs, and good vibe there than any other site.

I don't visit Shidoobee. IORR is so much simpler and allot more fun.

I love Shidoobee. However, the whole board is being turned into a monument to a couple of posters and that just doesn't really interest me.

It's TOO American for me.

I second that. I don't want to sound anti-american now, but it's just that people there are sometimes so overly excited and cheerful about everything, I can't stand that. IORR is definitely my first choice, great usability and interesting people and infos. I do check Shidoobee regularly too, as they usually have more infos about the Stones in the US.

I agree with you, IORR is a great forum, and Stones Doug a nice person from what I could notice each time we met, but still no answer about this boycott and misinformation thing...

This is THE place if you are a depressed whiner. Why can't those damn Americans be as depressed as the rest of us. Makes me hate them even more, LOL!

Yeah, I loved that one as well. Funny stuff indeed! lol

Shidoobee, well, it sometimes seems like a bunch of psychopaths to me You can occassionally soak in the atmosphere, but I think such Stones adoration is way too much.
On the other hand, the negative, Stones-bashing comments on this site, sometimes it seems way too much as well, sometimes you wonder whether you are on a fan site or an anti-Stones site. LOL, I can't get no, no, no, no
Seriously, I sort of prefer this site, always have, it's easier to find something here, more simple and there's more... immediate reaction among the posters.
On the other hand, there's a lot more info on shidoobee if you know what thread to check, and mainly, it' s full of pictures, great pictures of the boys
If I had to choose one, I'd stay here... even though I'm not depressed, let alone because of what the Stones are doing

same, also, the topics didnt interest me as much as the ones here.

Doug's a good guy...have met him. But, the "rah rah" stuff over there is quite nauseating. I prefer the "fine whine" of IORR.

oh, rats...I was hoping I could freak you out....

stonesdoug is very nice, and i always hang there before and during a stones' US leg. haven't visited since the RS tour has moved out of the states, so...

i'm not sure what 'misinformation' was posted there, nor have i heard anything about a boycott. hopefully, people aren't over-reacting to tour rumours, etc. rumours. i would think in the internet age that everyone is used to having to double check things out for themselves....

i only have 2 problems with shidoobee:
-a complete ban on all political topics
-the barf-inducing "Mr. L(awyer)" who seems, for me anyways, to ruin every thread he posts in with his total pre-occupation with $$$ and freaking out constantly that RS show X is a complete failure because only 49,999 of the 50,000 seats were sold.

giving props where props are due: nobody provided better coverage of the last 2 tours' toronto rehearsals, up-to-the-minute setlist calls *during* every show of the US tour, and immediate reviews for those shows that same night like shidoobee.

i prefer the more 'international' feel here, but many people seem to post on both sites. stonesdoug, like BV, works very hard on his site. i still haven't heard what this 'boycott' is all about. is it just a bitter 'banned' poster?

This boycott crap...sounds like someone has way to much time on their hands......Shidoobee is a decent board and I for one post there more than here......the one thing to keep in mind is no matter whether it's IORR, Shidoobee,Rocks Off etc...we are all stones fans!

I'm glad no one seems to have taken offence about my comment on Shidoobie being "too American" for me. It wasn't meant as an anti-American slur or anything of a kind. Like Winter, I guess I just prefer the "International" feel that we have here and over at Rocks Off. The latter board is especially great. There are people from the UK, France, Germany, Holland, South America, North America, Mars, and Venus etc. It's wonderful in that respect.
