stones health issues

I've been hearing a lot of health issues that the stones have had over the years. Asides Charlie's cancer, what where they for the other members?

Keith, as you probably know, has arthritis, but that's been going on for a longer time..

And Bobby Keys was not at some shows because he was ill, but he seems to be fine.

So not anything else, really.

you've kinda overlooked the fact that Ronnie has been a chronic alcoholic for years with a couple of spells in clinics before each of the last two tours and that he was advised by doctors 2 years ago that he was on the point of contracting emphysema and would be dead within a year if he continued to smoke.

He's still struggling to cope with both addictions because relapsing to either of those old habits will probably prove fatal sooner rather than later

keith's had arthritis for years but that problem isnt getting any better. have you seen his fingers lately? That is going to affect his playing in years to come if it isnt doing so already. He's a walking miracle in that his lifestyle hasnt caught up with him by now, but it will eventually despite all this "he'll outlive everything" image bullshit that people love to parrot ad nauseam and which he seems intent on trying to live up to.

Mick had serious damage to his vocal cords diagnosed towards the end of the Licks tour which forced a few postponements and an order by doctirs not to sing on two successive nights anymore. Supposedly he was due to receive medical treatment after the tour to repair some damage to his throat and this was a major factor in not extending the tour into 2004. However, it was never publicly reported if he had surgery so I dont know if that was the case.

Apart from all that and the fact that Charlie had 8 weeks radiotherapy in 2004 due to throat cancer, their health is tip-top!!

Mick's been pretty susceptible to throat & respiratory problems over the last 8 or 9 years.

Ronnie's got liver & respiratory problems from the booze & smokes. Not to mention ADD.

Chuck is sadly afflicted with sartorial retardation, of which there is no known cure.

You guys have left out one of the biggest one's. Mick's had chronic "Swelling of the Ego" many many times and has been treated for this sometimes life threatening condition in Hospitals in London, NYC, and Los Angelse. It was at it's worst in the mid 80's and comes back now and then. They give him some kind of shot for it...

read it again. If any member of the Stones has a health problem thats most likely to affect him in the immediate future, its Mr Wood...

er..as he's had a few spells in rehab, has a fĂșcked liver and has respiratory problems due to being on the verge of emphysema, I would say they already have done, yeah.

But it's not acute. You could have seen it coming years back. It's like jumping into a big bowl of acid, it's pretty bad for your health, but you're a dumbass to start with.. getting cancer is not something you can expect, you know??

at least mick has an amazing body though. What rock star out there is as toned and physically fit as he is? Even Bono, Steven Tyler and other "younger" yet mature artists don't have his body. He's like the Madonna of male lead vocalists. He should be on more VH1 and E! shows when they have obnoxious shows about hot bodies.

gazza,

hang on to my cyanide dose for now, i'm going to see if they start to release anything from the vaults over the next 10 years first. if they never do, and all the other IORR vets have passed to the great beyond without me, i will indeed be pissed!!!!; -however, someone has to stick around to inform the future generations, and i sure as hell won't let it be those damn fairweather fans or the warhorses apologists or those rich 'casual fans' who've been diluting the audience over the last 10 years, dammit!....besides, who else will buy the 2010 remastered Made in the Shade with bonus cut of BS recorded on 12/18/69 w/clapton and the 2011 collection 50 Licks deluxe edition with an edited version of CYHMK and the disco remix of YGMR?

don't let me be the only hardcore fan left on the pitch at wembley for the 2012 "mick and keef and their rolling stones revue" show!!!

god, everybody is FREAKING OUT this weekend, huh? 50 friggin' threads on The End Times, vs. the usual 4 or 5. sure makes one wistful for the good old "MT or Ron?", "they only played 20 songs last nite!", and the "your ultimate fantasy setlist" threads, don't it?

everybody take a breath, THE STONES ARE GEARING UP FOR A EUROPEAN TOUR.

go see 'em.

My brother have had it since the age of 5.
Lotsa troubles growing up with it, especially in the 80s and early 90s when you needed needles 3 times every day.
