(I think it means may you live to 100 years) Some Polish people I met at a club in Warsaw and ended up drinking with taught me that. Little Queenie, ROCKMAN put up a ton of 72/73 shots a few weeks ago and it looked really OBVIOUS...I don't have the shots, ROCKMAN is ground zero for all things visual. He's in Australia so 5 hours behind west coast USA (actually 19 hours/1 day ahead (but let's not have our heads explode figuring that one out) he's always around in the late afternoon LA time for requests.....

Where you have friends in Poland???Because We say STO LOT in Slask...they in warsaw say Sto Lat..Adn yes Eva can give you not STO LOT but DWIECIE LOT..which means 200 years..But truly girls in Slask are much better that in warsaw...An it isn't any rivalry .It's much simply :They hate us we hate them

Well. it was just some people I met in that area "Old Town" (that they rebuilt after the War to look exactly like it did before the bombing) at one of the restaurant/bars there. I haave the business card of the place somewhere and the names and cell phones of a few of the people somewhere also. All my travel stuff/papers are always somewhere (in a box or something around here). And STO LOT I just wrote the way it sounded....maybe they were saying LAT, to me it was more like LOT (but they live in/around Warsaw. So what big cities are in Slask? I have an atlas so I can check. I know about LODZ cause I read the film maker David Lynch bought a Studio there (one that Polanski studied at) And I have that Pearl Jam live in Poland CD that the band said was one of the best concerts from that whole tour. i think it was 2002 or something.I remember it was a VERY long show and it wasn't Warsaw or Krakow....

Hey, Sater! Speak for yourself!!! Just because YOU hate someone, it doesn't mean that EVERYBODY hates him. I am from Warsaw and I don't hate anybody in Slask (which is Silesia in English) neither anyone I know in Silesia hates Warsaw. I don't know where all your hatred comes from, and frankly I don't care because it's your own business. You just don't have to show it off. Just come to the show and have fun. It's the Stones! It doesn't matter where you see them as long as you can experience this transcendental feeling Sorry for that, but I didn't want everybody on this messageboard think that everyone in Poland is so prejudiced.

And to MicksBrain: the biggest city in Silesia is Katowice. This is where Pearl Jam played twice in June 2000, and the second show is the show you're talking about. Hell of a good show!

The bis cities in Slask are Katowice,Chorzów,Bytom.Lodz isn't in Slask
Stadion slaski the biggest stadium in Poland is in Chorzow.Stones played there in 1998.It's beautiful stadium,great acoustic..Many great band played on slaski stadium .U2,Metallica,AC/DC,Iron Maiden.Great venue for rock concert


Pearl jam played two sold out shows at spodek arena in katowice 16 06 2000 and 17 06 2000..I Have bootlegs of this two shows and..WHAT A SHOW!!!!

Yeah, the Pearl Jam shows were very good. The band sold them in the USA for something like $12.00 for double CD's which is a really good price for 2. It looks like a bootleg in simple cardboard with no pictures (just name and setlist) but the band recorded them and sold them on the website.Now they have a lot of down loads for free from the last tour. So I found Katowice in my book...why the fight between these 2 regions? How about Warsaw and Krakow? I heard they are not so crazy about each other....

Hi Queenie.
You will probably come on a train from Brno at 4 or 5 p.m so there is a couple of hours for You to use up. You should take a walk in the Old City, I went there 2 years ago and it is beautiful in the summer. I don't know what's of Your interest. You can visit The Warsaw Rising museum if it's open in the evening, I have not seen it but it is said to be extremely interesting. There's also that Tim Ries concert. They are going to start selling tickets on 1st of May and teh tickets are said to be also an access to some VIP party after the concert. Well, it actually means that they will be expensive, we'll see.
Maybe there will be some pre-show party on Saturday evening too.
