Let's get logical. Considering that ABB, in vinyl terms, would be a double album (especially with the 2 extra tracks on the DVD) and when the Stones toured the double album "Exile" on the '72 tour and were doing 6 songs off of it everynight (RO,RTJ,TD,SV,Happy,ADTL and I believe began the tour doing 8 songs off of it) it's only LOGICAL that the Stones add a few more ABB songs to their set list. IMO this does not mean keeping it at 20 songs but they're gonna have to go back to a 22 or 23 song set list. They've been touring for a while now, are in better shape, so I'm sure they can handle 2 or 3 more songs (give Lisa Fisher a one song slot, like Billy Preston had on the '75 tour, so Mick can rest up for those 2 or 3 extra songs). There we go , problem solved....
I also ONNYA; I believe English-speakers are more sensitive to it generally because of the lyrics. the banalities here 'n' in Neo Con just goes down the drain when its on yer 2nd language... ...And what the fook would r'n'r be w/out banalities... ?
First I want to say, that after seeing and hearing both the brasilian and argentinian show, their playing has improved compared to the usa leg. What works better live? I think that ONNYA works far better than say Rough Justice. It was good to hear Keith play a decent guitar solo in ONNYA (Rio)
ONNYA is the much better song than SSMC! I would prefer to hear other songs from ABB in Europe, but not in the place of the ones already played, but in addition, maybe alternately! IWTL, DTF, and LIND!
We dont have to compare RJ & ONNYA... Imho both works more than excellent... Woody shot off a legendary slide solo at the Bowls on RJ; have we already forgot??
There's so many ups and downs on this forum. "Everyone" liked ONNYA a few months ago. I remember the 81/82 tour thread, where lots of people wrote that they hated the 81/82 tour. Why don't we set up a list of what is good, and what is not. Let us then vote. It will be a contract, and you'll have to sign to be a part of this forum.
I remember the Stones got reemed in Chicago in '78 for playing 5 or 6 songs from Some Girls. I would like to hear more from ABB. ONNYA can go; I like RJ; I don't think RFD works live, but it's great on the album.
SSMC would be a good addition, so would It Won't Take Long. IMO, thank you.
Naw rocks off, we loved the set list in '78 (Anaheim shows). I would have traded the blah "Lies" for "Some Girls" (which was great in '99) but besides that it rocked.....
I like the song a lot. Ideally, they would drop a few warhorses and play more A Bigger Bang songs. But if they aren't going to do that, the next best thing would be to keep playing 4 ABB songs but rotate them - ONNYA one night, She Saw Me Coming the next, etc.
For them to KEEP PLAYING 4 from ABB, that means they would already have to be playing 4. This is the problem. I saw 4 in November but they did not stick with it and even went to 2 once or twice. They have got ONNYA and RJ down and should stick with those. And rotate others to fill 2 other spots. It would be nice to see a ABB song develop into a great live song.(how about IWTL) or how about one never played like LIND or LMDS. They are not giving the ABB songs a chance. Does anyone know the count of ABB songs played?? (sorry to preach to the choir)

They started out playing four and they've been playing four recently, but you're right they haven't played four every show, they only played three in Florida last night. But it's been four more often than not.
