It's amazing how bad some of the Stones album covers are:
1. Dirty Work - WTF with the Don Johnson suits and the bright colors? Who are these guys? So bad that they covered it with red cellophane when it came out.
2. No Security - Who are those losers? Wonder if they post on IORR?
3. Flashpoint - Slick looking, pointless, anonymous. Could be the cover of any album by any band.
4. Beggars Banquet (original invitation cover) - A compromise and boring. The Beatles did it better with the white album.
5. Goat's Head Soup - Mick with the Bonnet - pretty distressing. Would place higher, except Keith looks great on the back and the Goat soup insert is very cool and should have been the cover.
Worst: Bigger bang followed by Flashpoint and Beggars (just childish) Best: The Rolling Stones (check out Brian, OMG), Some girls, Black n blue, Love you live, Sticky, Let it bleed, Exile, Aftermath
I don't like any of the late "abstarct' ones: SW, VL, B2B and Falshpoint. NS is just...beyond comprehension. A band as big as the Stones with something as idiotic as that cover. I love all the older ones. The first 5 to 6 ones. Buttons is beautiful. Satanic = perfect. BB is made up with that great inside cover. And I love GHS, and the Wagnerian IORR too.

I think the Stones could win a prize for having the worst album covers in the business. It's amazing how bad most of them are. I think they pretend to be artsy or something. Most of them are pure shit IMO. And I absolutely hate the ABB cover. Lousy.
I like Black & Blue, Love You Live and Sticky Fingers best.
Mick's Solo Album covers are much better. I like the WS and GITD covers. PC is awful, could be a Stones cover.
I don't like ABB, but what I did was fold the CD booklet inside out, so that the image of Keith and Ronnie from the center becomes the cover (W/Mick and Charlie on the back). Try it -- it looks pretty cool.
Haha! I Love that:"Primitive Cool was awful. Could have been a Stones cover". The thing about all four of Jagger's solo albums is that they are ALL dated now. He is so careful to get into the current trip that hye foregoes any kind of subtlety. 1 - you had the stupid "Wheel of Fortune" and the jogging tight pants. 2 - was that ridiculous "artsy" abstract baloney 3 - was good but he was going for the Heroin-chic 4 - is now looking back..just..it makes me laugh. I mean, what the..?? What is that in his pants on a pedestal and a guitarz?? I guess, he is going back to basics. I don't know what to call it but it is ceratinly not a sweeping image.

Easily the best: Exile. Great piece of work by Robert Frank, covering the content (Americana) Worst: the last four albums: BtB, No Security, Live LIcks, ABB.
Interesting to see that the best albums seem to produce the best covers (LIB, SF, Exile, Some Girls)
