I attended four shows this tour. I don't bother looking at the videos. I don't mean to insult anyone but the vast majority are done by "everyone" and not by professionals. You simply can't compare a run of the mill video to a professionally made one or obviously actually attending the concert.

Same here. Don't watch phone vids of Stones or any other band to be honest. I find the sound shrill in most cases and the videos distracting. Doesn't tell me whether it's a good show or not. I will on occasion watch pro shot videos but it's all about hearing the music. This is also why I don't take videos at shows and just do audio.
I understand people being far away not being able to attend but comments about whether a show is good or bad when watching through a phone is laughable at best. It's the same people complaining over the performance based on the keyhole they are watching through. I have been lucky enough to attend many shows and know that my personal experience at a show affects whether qi think it is good or great. What I can say is none of the shows have sucked. Each show had it's magical moments. Nothing to complain about and just gratitude that I am in attendance. That is why I keep going for more.

I can understand if you don't have good ears for music or never played an instrument, then it might be hard for you to judge a performance from youtube videos.
But for many people it's very easy to judge how the band members are playing based on videos.
The notes are all there for everyone to hear. Everyone knows it sounds better in person, but how the band is playing is still very obvious from watching videos.

I beg to differ. I have a real good ear for music and do not agree that someone holding a phone in thr air and someone watching it on their phone or computer can tell much of anything. It is no different from attending a sporting event live. It is cheaper, easier and more convenient and with 12 cameras it gets close. A single phone angle does not do that. It is a personal memory for the person filming. A high quality audio recording that has the clarity does a much better job with the sound but to each his own.

You said you don't watch phone videos so how would you know what they sound like?
Some are really good. Some phones have been designed to capture live music better than 5 years ago. A number of videos sound "great", especially when played through speakers (everything sounds like crap when only played on a phone). There are plenty of videos with good sound - sood enough sound to capture the space, to hear a band that's playing great, to hear a band that's lost, bum notes - any of it.
Of course they'll never sound like a board mix or live album - but a lot of them in 2024 sound fantastic compared to 2017 or whatever.

I can take a minute or two and that's it. Doesn't matter which band. They do nothing for me.
