During the stop in Atlanta, Dave Natale (live sound engineer for the Stones, among others) finally paid a visit to Rick Beato, resulting in a very enjoyable interview with some Stones content.

Quite surprised to learn that he worked with the Crowes - probably in the US only. Their live sound in the past two Euro tours was abysmal

Concert Sound (Stones live sound man Dave Natale interview)

Not for everyone. Pretty technical at times about specific mics and amps, etc. But some Stones content (and Jeff Beck, Crowes, VH). Interviewer Rick Beato with Dave Natale, live-sound man to the Stones for the last several tours, along with Jeff Beck. I LOATHE going to a show and getting crappy sound - esp in venues where I have been to shows with great sound previously. I could not care about light shows and video screens - I want to hear the band, loud and clear.

I found it interesting (above me technically, but hope some of you enjoy)

"It only sounds as good as the venues allows you to sound"

The old reverb story.....

Yes, but if you're going to make a loud noise in a huge cavernous enclosed stadium...you're always going to be on the ropes acoustically.

Up to certain volume level in any acoustic space you're mostly going to be hearing what comes out of the speakers...

...but once the levels start "driving the room", it gets difficult.

That's why I hate closed roof arenas, especially if they are football sized ones.

BTW, thanks for the link. I may have missed this one.
His white borad stuff at the end was amazing, exactly how I approach remixing (if necessary).
