Early Entry-Sound Check

Has anyone watched a soundcheck using early entry? I hear a folks did in Orlando. There are so many packages I can't keep track. I just recently heard of paying more for early entry at a Neil Young show in Bridgeport, CT. I had a pit ticket and got the venue early only to see two lines. One for early entry and one for everyone else. I asked how you get an early entry as I had not heard about that for Neil. Was told to go on Ticketmaster and there is an extra section that for things like parking. Ticketmaster was sold out but someone recommended asking at the box office. They ended up selling me one for $15. I was ticketmastered! I would love to catch as stones sound check as I listened to a few over the years. Miami & Orlando. Not sure I like paying more for early entry...but I would pay more for a soundcheck!

If you like Paul McCartney he does this. Not sure about anyone else.

I don't think the Stones let the Early Entry people into the pit (or GA) for the soundcheck.

They might let them into the stadium concourse so they will hear better, but as I understand it, no fans are allowed inside before soundcheck is finished.

Correct- Was early entry for Atlanta, they let us inside the Stadium Concourse area right before soundcheck started, but we waited in the concourse/hallway area until Stones were finished (roughly 40-45 minutes). You could hear the Soundcheck pretty well, but couldn’t see the stage. They let you walk down another hallway that lead towards stairs to go to the floor to use the restroom, but there was a temporary wall/partition with a security guard in front of it, so you couldn’t sneak down to the Field early or even catch a glimpse of the stage. Still cool to hear the SC, but they definitely weren’t letting anyone see or “watch” it. Stones were totally gone from stage, another 5 minute wait, then they let us down to the Field and ultimately to the Pit.

My son works in the industry (smaller venues admittedly) and he says these sound check packages are a con. You aren't seeing the real sound check, apparently.

Do you think you need an early entry VIP package to get a rail spot in the pit?

Ronnie Wood did this in 2019. But in contrast to Macca he played just songs at the soundcheck that he also played at the regular shows

Stupid gimmick if you ask me.

A sound check should be just that . A check to make sure its all going to sound OK when the punters come in.

Spoils it anyway. Soundchecks heard from outside the stadium are beautiful tantalising hints of what's to come.

What next...even earlier entry to se the band take a dump ?
