An alternative history ?

Had all the "hoo-haa" with Klein and the label change not happened ...

... how might the recording history and content of the "big four" albums have differed ?

Perhaps not at all? It's a thought that's just crossed my mind on the back of the "...just one album..." thread

There would have been an official live album of the '72 tour

Probably career spanning compilations rather than exclusively 60s and post '71 albums

Probably 60s outtake albums to accompany anniversary issues

Possibly some more 60s live albums

I just think the 60s work would have been curated by The Stones themselves and probably received a lot more TLC.......

All but one song on STICKY FINGERS are ABKCO Publishing. Sweet Virginia, Loving Cup, All Down The Line, Stop Breaking Down and Shine A Light are ABKCO Music.

It's likely EXILE wouldn't've happened if they had stayed with Klein because, after all, he was not paying their taxes, he wasn't paying them what they were owed (he didn't have to pay them anything from the Decca renegotiation for 20 years), he pulled their publishing and masters - when the Decca deal was over, Klein owned EVERYTHING.

He made all the money from HOT ROCKS.

So... it's more than just a quibble with ABKCO.

I dunno. There probably wouldn't be EXILE and anything post as we know it.

If the Rolling Stones hadn't happened I'd have more money and probably be retired ! No Regrets . Been a fan since I was 15 in 1980 . They have been a constant in my life . Orlando was my 60th show and it's still a blast . Never Stop .
