Right, well, If we were asking which "Deluxe Reissue" album, together with it's officially released extras I'd have to go with SG .

I absolutely love the SG bonus material.

For me, of all the "bonus discs", it stands up on it's own as an album...and a bloody good one at that !

[ Edited to add...I so wish they'd offered te package on vinyl . The popular "vinyl resurgence" hadn't yet gathered enough steam I suppose.]

Completely agree with that. I do love some of the individual cuts from some of the other releases, Plundered, and the 3 from GHS are fabulous but Some Girls bonus disc is the complete package.

I took the outs/deluxe stuff from Exile, GHS, Some girls and Tattoo you and jumbled them up on to two discs. Fantastic.

Can I pick The London Years?

For me it's Exile On Main Street, hands down their finest hour. Exile captures the Stones' raw energy and creativity and Mick's vocal on Let It Loose is blistering & hot, honest and emotional...his best vocal ever, IMO. Combine that with Shine A Light, Ventilator Blues, Loving Cup....like I said, their very best!

How come I can’t pick Blue and Lonesome?
Honestly, that’s probably my desert island album of them all regardless of restrictions.
Only two other posters have mentioned it. It’s sublime.

Quite agree. Could have been mastered a bit more sympathetically, but it's great.

It made a wonderful book end with their first album all those years ago.

The enthusiasm and naivety of youth, contrasted with the seasoning and experience of age.

The thread title is misleading. The OP stated, “you must choose between Dirty Work, Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge, Bridges, A Bigger Bang and Hackney Diamonds.”
As a result, many folks picked up an album from the group’s entire career. The thread title should be “If you had to pick just one Rolling Stones album from Dirty Work onward”. (Don’t know why the OP didn’t put Steel Wheels at the beginning as it is the first album of the modern Stones era, though.)

My choice? Hackney Diamonds all the way. Modern, pop and quality album. It’s the most accessible album of the modern Stones era. And one of the most accessible in their entire catalogue, too.

From the choices to choose from it would be A Bigger Bang.

If I could bring one more it would be Undercover

"Well my heavy throbbers itchin' just to lay a solid rhythm down"

Imagine you had to pick just one Rolling Stones Album to listen for the rest of your life...but you must choose between Dirty Work, Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge, Bridges, A Bigger Bang and Hackney Diamonds.

Just one, all others will cease to exist, including pre Dirty work albums

Go

Are we allowed to skip tracks? I’d go with Bridges and put Thief on repeat with an occasional Flip and possibly Saint.

Tough decision but I'm going with Let It Bleed.

This was the original question. The title isn’t specific enough.

I choose HD.
