Just heard a sixties one by the Toggery Five called I'd much rather be with the boys that sounds better to me but i think it's an extreme rarity that other people outdo the Stones own version. There rival the Beatles have been outdone easily by other people such as Joe Cocker's With a little help from my friends.
Street fighting man, yesterday, Martha Wainwright. Critic at Expressen thought it was weak but he loves the Stones and thinks that she cant do a better version than "gubbarna i Stones".

Yes, and the great version of JJF from Johnny Winter during the "Rockpalast Nacht" in Essen/Germany in 1979, a live television programme from 10 pm till 4 in the morning ... great rock and blues times, never matched today.
better? no, of course not...but do check out Sympathy for the Devil from Ozzie Osbourne.....get it on iTunes.....it's not better, but is is damned good!

u have to be kidding-this was the WORST version of that song ever-period. it was embarassingly bad.
on Electric Mud....uh....it's "interesting." I'll leave it at that. The whole album is/was a controversial experiment pushed on Muddy in the late 60's by Chess in an effort to make him "hep" to the acid rock movement. To say it was a failure is probably an understatement!
Satisfaction's a hard song to improve upon, if you go after it the way the Stones attacked it, but if you go about it differently it can be "improved" upon, . . . if that makes any sense.
If it does, I like Junior Wells version as well as Otis's and . . . even Devo's.
Yup, kill me now.
I'm with the Rev on Youngblood's version of Moonlight Mile (and Sway). Beautiful treatment, not better but different and killer. Same with Clarence Gatemouth Brown's Ventilator Blues. A lot brighter sounding but really really good. And it was Johhny Copeland's version that taught me how to play Tumbling Dice, so I have a soft spot for that version. Cowboy Junkies do a decent version of Dead Flowers, perfect song for them to cover, but not better than the Stones (obviously).
I think Marianne Faithfull's version of "Sister Morphine" is better than the Stones' version. Not massively better, but better. Mainly because of her vocals.
my fav ruby tuesday is by stones from boot 7th of july 90 , but ive been playin this gem for 35 yrs. from 1970 by Melanie ,check it out its great , put it 2 cd
