I'd like to get down to the stadium quite early on the day of the show but it looks like the trains only start a few hours before showtime (correct me if I'm wrong!). Does anyone know how I could get there earlier please - not driving - I've tried to look at buses but can't seem to figure it out eye rolling smiley

I'll stay at the Hilton Meadowland from May 22nd to May 28th.
Will there be others from IORR?
Does anyone know the best way to get from the hotel to Metlife Stadium and back on the day of the shows?
And is it already known where the Lucky Dip Box Office will be located?
And where at the stadium are the merchandise trucks? When do they open?
And are there any pre-show parties planned? Where and when?
I'll also be at the Blue Note Jazz Club at Karl Denson's Tiny Universe and at The Jazz Club at Tim Ries' The Rolling Stones Project with Bernard Fowler and Darryl Jones. Anyone else?
Lots of questions - sorry - but hoping for some good answers.

Although that hotel is very close to the stadium -- a stone's throw --, I would think it is too dangerous to walk to Metlife from the hotel... because it is just multi-lane highways.
Maybe the hotel has a shuttle? Otherwise you probably need to go with Uber or Lyft or by taxi.

I am also waiting to hear which box office for the Lucky Dips...

You may be tempted to go to the gigantic American Dream Mall and entertainment complex next to the stadium. I wouldn't bother... I've never been there myself.

Instead, suggest try to get out of East Rutherford on Friday and Saturday...

Get to NYC... walk around go shopping, out to eat, drink, or to a museum, movie or a show.

From your hotel, you'll need to get to Secaucus train station by car. Then take NJ Transit train to NY Penn Station.

Ah alright, thanks smiling smiley So is that all included in one ticket?
Because on the MetLife Stadium website they have those trains listed for $5 one way, is that what you're talking about?

Trains from Secaucus to MetLife stadium operate only for scheduled stadium concerts and sporting events.

Except for the days of the concerts, car or bus the only options to get from Manhattan to MetLife stadium (Meadowlands Sports Complex, American Dream Mall, etc.).

Maybe a local bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal? See: here

Almost certain that there is no train to stadium except on event days.

I could be wrong, but I would guess that they'd sell merchandise only on concert days

Tip of the iceberg. Keep in mind that the jazz clubs especially will charge you drink and/or food minimums on top of the cover.

Fri May 17
The Soul Rebels join Chris Dave at the Blue Note (a better name than venue), 2 shows
The Avett Brothers and Sierra Ferrell at Forest Hills Stadium, Queens (which had some sound problems earlier in the week; look for Mick's likeness on the outside of the venue)

Fri-Sat May 17-18
Battle of the Big Bands: New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and Captain Black Big Band, hosted by Wendell Pierce at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater
Swans at Music Hall of Williamsburg, Brooklyn (if you are interested in permanent hearing loss, at least without ear plugs; see also Earth at Littlefield in Brooklyn on Sun)

Fri, Sun May 17, 19
Norah Jones at the Brooklyn Paramount and Apollo Theater, respectively

Fri-Sun May 17-19
Swamp in the City Cajun and Creole Music Festival at various venues in Brooklyn including the Waterfront Museum & Barge tonight and Strong Rope Brewery Sat night and Sun afternoon
Victor Goines Quartet at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center (which has a great view), 2 shows, early on Sunday
Jane Monheit at Smoke Jazz Club, 2 shows

Sat May 18
Sound & Color Spring Festival free all day at Brooklyn Bridge Park (a great tourist destination with or without music, but the weather looks unfriendly)
AAPI Jazz Fest all day at Express, Newark, NJ
Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk at Brooklyn Bowl (a nice venue with a bowling alley and pretty good food) - see also Wed
The Plimsouls, Dead Boys, Richard Lloyd (of Television) at St. Vitus, Brooklyn

Sun May 19
Ivan Julian band at the Hoboken Spring Arts and Music Festival (weather permitting), Hoboken, NJ, 4:45, free
Sonny Landreth and the Iguanas at City Winery (which has decent food; the non-house wines are better)
Arturo O'Farrill's Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra at Birdland, 2 shows
George Cables' Sonny Fortune tribute at Zinc Bar, Brooklyn
The Messthetics (members of Fugazi) with James Brandon Lewis, Steve Gunn at Bowery Ballroom
Marc Ford (formerly of the Black Crowes) at Iridium (a bit of a Times Square tourist trap)

Mon May 20
Ed Palermo Big Band at Iridium (he plays a lot of Frank Zappa and a little Stones, among other things)
Terre Roche at the Loft at City Winery

Mons May 20 and 27
Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks at Birdland, 5:30 and 8:30
Eddie Palmieri at the Blue Note (serious risk that he will cancel), 2 shows

Tue May 21
David Virelles' Nosotros Ensemble feat. Dafnis Prieto at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall
The Brain Cloud at Mona's Bar
Megan Thee Stallion at Madison Square Garden
Frank Lacy Trio at Smalls, 10:30 and midnight

Tue-Wed May 21-22
Karl Denson's Tiny Universe at the Blue Note, 2 shows
Trey Anastasio (of Phish) at Brooklyn Steel

Wed May 22
Terry Waldo's Gotham City Band, Bryant Park, 3:30, free
Mingus Big Band at drom, 2 shows
Sullivan Fortner's Galactic Friends: Sun Ra at 110 at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center, 2 shows
Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk opens for George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic at the Wellmont Theater, Montclair, NJ
Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at City Winery
Cyro Baptista, Peter Apfelbaum, Eric Mingus, and more at the Stone at the New School

Wed-Sat May 22-25
David Murray Quartet at the Village Vanguard, 2 shows

Fri May 24
John Zorn's New Masada Quartet with Julian Lage and Kenny Wolleson at Roulette, Brooklyn, 2 shows
The Allman Betts Band at Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre, Red Bank, NJ

Fri-Sat May 24-25
Russell Malone Quartet at Smoke Jazz Club, 2 shows
Cyrus Chestnut Trio at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center, 2 shows
Matt Wilson's Good Trouble at Birdland, 2 shows

Sat May 25
Steve Conte (of the latter-day New York Dolls) at the Bowery Electric (next door to the former CBGB's)
Cyro Baptista, Billy Martin at the Stone at the New School;
TK Blue's Randy Weston Tribute at Sistas' Place, 2 shows
The Smithereens and Marshall Crenshaw at Wonder Bar, Asbury Park, NJ

Mon May 27
New York Philharmonic's free Memorial Day concert at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine
Eric Alexander/Mike LeDonne Quartet at Smalls, 2 shows

Like most places, the blues are not alive and well in NYC. Other than a few bars in Harlem, the best-known "blues club" per se in NYC, Terra Blues in the Village, isn't worth your time/money in my opinion, but if you want to check out Junior Mack, say, there, go ahead.

The Knicks may have a playoff game Sunday afternoon. The Liberty play their home opener in Brooklyn against Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever tomorrow afternoon, with another game Monday night. You won't get tickets to any but the last of these.

The Yankees are at home through Thursday, with day games Sunday and Thursday. The Mets return Friday the 24th, with day games starting the next afternoon, when they'll wear unusual, ugly uniforms.

I've said it before and I will say it again.
Best way to travel to Metlife stadium on show day from NYC is the bus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

There is also a NJ Transit train from Penn Station.

From previous experience the bus is a faster and more effiecient option, especially after the show.

Is it possible to buy tickets for the bus (coachusa) online? Or do I have to do it at location where the bus is leaving? Can’t find the online ticketshop..
