Hey guys.
So happy for the 24 tour and seeing you on the road.
Was thinking of setlist for HD tour and how BS was really missed as warhorses on 21/22 tour.
Can someone explain the timeline on how this song (as popular as it IS) was dropped ?

It needs a comeback with Steve Jordan...
What happened?
I m not going into political debate. Juste wanna know what happened
Love you guys.
Sée you soon on the tour

Timeline:

Song not played Sep 20 2021, or any other show.

The end.

Like the other dozens of hits not regularly in the setlist, it doesn't really require a press release or an explanation.

BS was an unfortunate victim of cancel culture.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Great topic for philosophical discussion. People died for less in earlier times. At least we're not there, I think?

Fine by me, lets hear a bunch of new stuff on this tour! I'd love to see warhorses cut down to about 4-5 rather than 8-9

Agreed, if I don't get to hear Brown Sugar but get Whole Wide World, or Get Close, or Bite My Head Off or even Live By The Sword...I'm in!

Warhorses, I think Miss You and Honky Tonk Women is of less value personally. But yes I too would love to hear something new in their place.

I understand people that for people that have never seen the band, these are bucket list check mark items.

But selfishly, we're the ones that have supported them all these years so I think including more cuts off the new album is gonna be positive. Plus they should want to play them, they're great, and will do a lot in getting people to pick up Hackney Diamonds.

I don't think there was any real backstory to the song's removal. No one actually complained about it, as far as I'm aware. Mick just decided to drop it from the setlist on that tour.

But if I had to guess, I assume Mick did it for the same reason he changed the lyrics to "Some Girls" during the `99 tour. It was just a diplomatic way of avoiding an unnecessary headache, since the band has long outgrown the days when they openly courted controversy.

ZZ Top are performing their song 'Brown Sugar' without any issues.

I say bring it back but rotate with other songs. JJF, Satisfaction and Gimme Shelter are the only songs I think they need to play at every show. SFM, HTW, MY, SMU, SFTD, TD, BS, PIB, IORR, MR, YCAGWYW can all be rotated around. Include more songs from Hackney DIamonds and other hits and some lost gems.

As far as I remember Brown Sugar discussion was not allowed here by bv.
