One of my favorites from the album. Love the buildup and ending. Think this will be good live.

Dead on. A favorite of mine as well. I am gonna admit I heard the leaked, poor quality version a month ago and immediately liked the song.

And now the real thing. Watt or not, I think it's great.

Huge "Sticky Fingers" vibe. First sound from "Wild Horses" & string part like in "Moonlight Mile". One of the best on "HD"!

Exactly, but like Mick said "LA sounding" as he wasn't interested in having it sound like it had been recorded in the dreary (but legendary for fans) Muscle Shoals studios !

It succeeds where "Sweetheards Together" or "Biggest Mistake" fell short, not to mention "Blinded by Love" of course.

One of those I prefer as well.

Love that Benmont Tench is playing on a couple songs

Yeah, great idea to have him back after B2B, that's the kind of musicianship that was lacking on the homegrown ABB

Makes me think of Oasis / not sure whether Noel or Liam though… mid 90’s ballad

I really like this one. Everyone of the principles seems to have put in a lot of consideration on their respective parts. Beautiful delivery by Mick and really dynamic and melodic playing by both Keith and Ronnie topped with a great background vocal and string arrangement. A true band effort!

I heard the awful home recorded “early release” of this and Get Close, and thought this sounded really nice. Wrong. It’s just bloody fantastic.

An instantly recognisable Stones mid tempo Tumbling Dice-like ballad. Epic. One of the best songs that they have released in decades. And superbly recorded.

Just love it.

Indeed. What a difference a musician makes.Very well arranged too. To me by far the most interesting song to listen to. If it only had Taylor with his "Stop Breaking Down" slide sound, and a beautiful fade out melodic guitar solo.. That would have made it 100% perfect. And Jagger, he still has "it".

It's a really good song. And IMo it could have been another 'Torn & Frayed', or 'Evening Gown'. But there's a LOT of Bass. I still think Andy Watt was a really good choice. It's going to take some repeated listening of the album.
ABB was such a brick wall mess b/c possible the Stones didn't quite understand the new technology. Andy Watt does. He seems a genuine fan. And he is coming at it from a much younger POV. It's very interesting.

I like the chorus. Parts of the song remind me "I put a spell on you" from Keys to Your Love.

This song is absolutely incredible! A sentimental Jagger always gets me in the feels too.

Depending on You, not for me. A mawkish pop ballad, but no big deal.

The best song on a great album

I think "Depending On You" would've been a big hit in the 90s, when MTV and VH1 were still relevant and would've given the Stones a big push.

It's basically what I wanted from a track like "Already Over Me", so it does put me in mind of that late 90s era in addition to the above-mentioned 70s songs. Just a really great hook and Mick is excellent throughout.

Best ballad theyve done since 'Memory Motel'.

Only 'Almost Hear You Sigh' runs it close.

Up there with 'Sweet Sounds', 'Driving Me Too Hard' and 'Bite My Head Off' as one of the four bonafide classics on the album. Maybe 'Angry' is as well.

The only thing missing is the barking dog from the 'leaked' version. I'm still subconsciously listening out for him at the very end every time.

Interesting that spotify credits the performers as the Stones and David Campbell

(Beck's dad, for those who dont know. He's done string arrangements for the Stones before)

In which case, I'm surprised to read here that Andy Watt is credited as the arranger.

That is high praise my friend! I love Memory Motel! (Back up to Boston - I’m singing in a bar.)

Glad to see there's a whole string section on this and they were not lazy and ask Matt to provide that part on synth. You can feel on it.
The barking dog is sorely missed. that was perfect.

Great tune,
For some reason during the first verse it takes my back to aftermath/ between the buttons..

If I had nit pick. I would say it the song could have had a better ending for me the ad-libbing sounds forced.

Still a great balled though.
