Stones Album Art Podcast

My son and I started a podcast on the Album Art of the Rolling Stones.
It's called Album Art-The Cover Stories. Eventually, we hope to branch out and coverthe iconic album art of other bands as well, but the Stones will keep us busy for some time.

Find us on Spotify at [open.spotify.com] or wherever you find your podcasts. We are housed at
[www.buzzsprout.com]

We're giddy with success with some of our episodes already topping 10 downloads. So, if you stop by and like us tell a friend. If we suck, keep it to yourself if you can.

I assume you are the author of all the papers about the artwork for every Rolling Stones album, available here on iorr.org. Your research is truly amazing, each paper is like a mini thesis, so well written and packed with interesting infos, thanks!!

I was disappointed to read the following at the link above...

He brought Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney to the recording studio. This led to their song "I Wanna Be Your Man" becoming the Rolling Stones' second single and inspiring the Stones to write their own music.

Crediting Andrew with getting two Fabs to the studio appears nowhere else I have ever read/seen/heard.

There are two main versions of how two Fabs got there. When he does this song on stage McCartney introduces it by saying that he and Lennon were walking along a street in central London and were accosted by Mick & Keith from a cab, and they went on from there to the studio. IMHO that's nonsense. The prospect of Paul & John walking along a street in central London in 1963 without causing a small riot is zero.

The other version, which is recorded and confirmed by Bill Wyman - who you must recall kept a daily diary and still checks things there -is that Mick & Keith were on the street taking a break from a session when they were spotted by Paul & John from a cab returning from a Variety Club lunch.

I'd put money on Bill's version. Not least because Bill has explicitly confirmed it.

No mention of Oldham, so where did you (cyoe?) source that claim?

Actually Captain Corella, you are in the wrong here. According to Bill Wyman himself this is what happened: Andrew Oldham left Studio 51 on Friday 10th of September 1963 and walked down Charing Cross Road. Close to Leicester Square he spotted John Lennon and Paul McCartney going out of a taxi on their way home from a lunch at the Variety Club. Oldham invited John and Paul to Studio 51 where The Rolling Stones were rehearsing. They came along and gave them I Wanna Be Your Man.
