I also recall in 25x5 video, an interview with Bill after Brian died, saying Brian was coming by the studio telling them what he was up to, as Bill said "still a good friend". He could have mentioned the song during one of these visits.

He could have said he liked Lawrence Welk also. Maybe they did play it as a tribute but,no one in the audience knew, Mick and Keith never said they did, but now Bill supposedly did according to Mathijs.I’d be convinced if I can see it in Bill’s own words.I have never seen or heard him say it in a quote or interview Mick Taylor must have been nervous, so maybe they played that song first so they would be warmed up and not screw up one of their songsbefore playing a Stones’ song.Although the rest of the concert was mostly subpar performance
