Back to the topic of nagging wives, I heard this funny joke today:

Jim's doctor tells him he has only one day to live. When
Jim goes home to share the bad news with his wife, she asks
what he wants to do with the little bit of time he has left.

"All I want," Jim tells his beloved wife, "is to spend my
last few hours reliving our honeymoon." Which is exactly what they did.

But after hours of blissful romance, she announces that
she's tired and wants to go to sleep.

"Oh, come on," Jim whispers in her ear.

"Look," his wife snaps, "I've got to get up in the morning. You don't!"

I have a few favorites, but I'm gonna mention any names. They know who they are. Most of them have a bit of the "Appalachian American" in them (I like that description), even if they live on the other side of the world.

Being "Appalachian American" doesn't define a sense of place so much as it defines an attitude. If I have to explain it to you, then you aren't one LOL.

Interestingly, the roots of Appalachian heritage music are solidly connected with the old world music of Ireland and the British isles.

There's a movie, "Songcatcher", that graphically illustrates this connection.

Well, I see besides CindyC who was so kind to mention me (I take back those recent smart ass posts CC) MicksBrain does not get a mention. That's probably because, like Nikkibong who I will put on my fav. lists, doesn't kiss ass and stands by his principles. It's hard to do in real life (but I do anyway, tough luck to those that don't like it) and I see the board picks favorites the same way. Well, I'd rather be the Tom Waits of IORR (Unique but almost forgotten) than The Elton John of IORR (playing "Bennie and the Jets" one thousand times too many while puking in a bucket next to the piano bench). BTW, just got 5 hours of first generation outtakes from "Cockfeeder Blues: The Dolly Parton Story" - the story of her growing up on a farm in rural Tenn.(since I know someone that knows some one that knows Richie Franks - her husband/manager)- amazing stuff on there, much better then the actual TV Special (the three girls shopping at Wal Mart footage of Dolly, Brittany, and Tina Turner is AMAZING).... so CindyC and Nikkibong should be getting their DVD's of those outtakes soon...MicksBrain remembers who his friends are.....Thanks for all the votes, starting my ass kissing class on Monday at the local college.....

But reading it is reminding me why I didn't want to make my list on the other thread. I kept forgetting people and then feeling bad. No one wants to be an "edit in" after the fact.

I have my favorite guys on here and (I Hope) they know who they are.
