While Mick and Ronnie are probably heading over to London from Xmas anyway, Keith usually spends this time of the year in Parrot Cay, not cold and rainy London... I would find it unusual for them to play shows this year in London - on the other hand from logistics perspective, it's easier to keep the crew busy for 2 more weeks following Hard Rock show, rather than gather them together for a one-off in January... Still I find it weird they would not announce it by now with just 2 weeks to go?!?

Denver had 58K if I remember correctly? That is a big number, and could be the difference...

After all these years, Oro-Medonte, ON is still about the only gig I can recall where we never got the numbers...

The owner of the venue plays golf with my friend. Stones were paid $7MUS and he expected to break even but was happy because it put the venue on the map.

Rolling Stones Tour Grosses Over $10 Million per Show

The Stones have plotted three of the highest-grossing concert tours of all time. Their 2005-07 A Bigger Bang road trip drew $558.3 million, placing them fourth overall behind Ed Sheeran ($776.2 million in 2017-19), U2 ($736.4 million in 2009-11) and Guns N’ Roses ($584.2 million in 2016-19).

Ed Sheeran - 255 shows.

U2 (360)- 110 shows.

The Rolling Stones (A BIGGER BANG) - 147 shows.

A lot of perspective there. U2 eclipsed the Stones money and attendance records by shows 73 and 78.

No two tours are the same. The only thing you can compare is the average ticket price and gross per show. The Stones have led both categories since the data has been available. You can pick any venue the Stones have played in NA and they will have had the highest gross of any artist at that venue.

I made a point to say Hi! to the owner that day, to thank him for hostin' The Stones... he was kinda taken aback as he was on his golf cart out where the trees ended and the parking lots began.

I told him I had seen an article online about he and his wife, and them running Burl's Creek, so I figured I'd say Hey and told him I came up from Dayton, OH to rock'n'roll in Canada one more time!

He was cool as people were approaching him with questions on where and when as the parking lots had just opened, but not the gates... I saw his wife later in the day as I tried to get some shade next to that barn behind the stage... I was dodgin' security for awhile as I had a cigarette or ten while waiting for the show to start.

Thanks for the stats Amyl Nitrate. thumbs up

All Down the Line was a scorcher at L.A. #2 - surprised they didn't play it more than just once.
And Get Off My Cloud was amazing at L.A. #1 - thankfully they played it at Tampa also (same with Beast of Burden).
Minneapolis was lucky to get a nice version of Monkey Man - wish they would have played it at other shows.
A shame they didn't play Live With Me. Or Worried About You. Or No Expectations - all of which have been up for the vote at least once.
Maybe they'll play one or more of those at the upcoming show, but I don't think there will be any drastic changes in the setlist -especially the final run of warhorses.

Ronnie is looking better each show that comes. Really glad he managed to get over the cancer again. Sad as it is Charlie isn’t there, I’m really happy Ronnie is, and looking well.

Very well said.

Was legit concerned after seeing him at the opener.
It was hard to say which had taken a bigger toll, his recent cancer/treatment bout or Charlie's passing.
Reports were that he took his death very hard, and it was apparent.

He's looking so much better now. I think this tour has been really good for him to work through his grief.
Perhaps really good for all of us.

Yeah you could tell from the first nights tribute to Charlie it hit Ronnie hard.
He looks great in the pics posted today from Miami. Playing music and being energized by the crowd has to help someone like him a lot. Born to play music.

Another tour has finished. Now comes the great emptiness. First there were the tour rumors. Then the tour announcement and scramble for tickets. Then weeks of waiting for the tour to start. Then either attending the shows or watching the live streams, reading the set lists, reading the reviews of the fans, and this going on for 3 months. And suddenly, it’s over. Until the rumors begin for the 60th anniversary tour. But in between, emptiness. I miss them already. I LOVE THIS BAND. I LOVE THIS BAND. I LOVE THIS BAND.

Got back to the UK yesterday morning after seeing the last 3 stadium shows - so grateful to have made it through all the CV checks and travel issues. Such an exciting trip and loved every gig, even though we only just made the Austin one with 10 mins to spare! Thanks to all the great characters we met and here's to some gigs next summer close to home for me! Take care everyone!

Great song grid Nitrate. I was kinda bummed they did Let it Bleed the other night too, as I was at Charlotte and was hoping we would get the only one of that - AND, otherwise, I 'think' they would have had (at least) one unique song per show otherwise (last night in FL being an exception).

The Rolling Stones played the final show of their 2021 No Filter Tour last night, bringing an eventful run for the band to a close.

That the tour even took place was something of a minor miracle. Originally scheduled for summer 2020, the trek was pushed back to 2021 due to the COVID pandemic.

Even before that postponement, the band had planned to tour without Charlie Watts. The legendary drummer underwent a medical procedure and was "unlikely to be available" for the tour as a result. In his place, Steve Jordan, a close friend of Watts' whose relationship with the band traces back to 1986, was asked to fill in.

"It was laid out that this was a work in progress. Charlie was going to come back, and they would be rocking again,” Jordan later recalled.

That’s not the way things played out.

On Aug. 24, Watts died "peacefully in a London hospital." The news sent shockwaves throughout the music world, as fellow rockers paid tribute to the beloved drummer. Despite Watts missing from their ranks for the first time, the Rolling Stones decided to go forward with the tour as scheduled.

The Stones played a private event for New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft on Sept. 20. "I must say though at this point it’s a bit of a poignant night for us," singer Mick Jagger admitted, noting how much everyone missed Watts. "We all miss Charlie so much, we miss him as a band, we miss him as friends, on and off the stage."

Six days later, the band played the first official date of its 2021 North American tour in St. Louis. Again, Watts' legacy was felt throughout the evening. Images and videos of the drummer played on the stadium's big screens, and the group dedicated "Tumbling Dice" to their late bandmate.

Though emotions were understandably running high to start with, a return to touring ultimately proved good for the band. Jagger, in particular, seemed to appreciate life on the road a little more this time around. The singer made a habit of tweeting pictures at various local haunts in the cities where the Stones were playing. Amazingly, the iconic frontman - who ranks among the most recognizable stars in rock history - seemingly went unnoticed on all of these occasions.

The tour also proved to be good for the band's bank account. The Stones took in a reported $10 million per night on each stop of the tour, a testament to their ongoing popularity even as the group approaches its 60-year mark.

Even though the band used virtually the same set list during each stop of the trek, it utilized a fan vote at every show to keep things fresh. “Wild Horses,” “Let It Bleed,” “Angie,” “Dead Flowers,” “Ruby Tuesday,” “Monkey Man,” “Far Away Eyes” and “She’s a Rainbow” were among the fan-chosen songs heard during various shows.

One song that wouldn’t be heard from the stage: “Brown Sugar.” The band opted to shelve the classic following an inundation of criticism regarding the song's references to slavery. "Didn’t they understand this was a song about the horrors of slavery?" Keith Richards pondered to the Los Angeles Times, before noting activists were "trying to bury" the tune. For his part, Jagger suggested the band may have been burnt out on the on the song, considering they'd played it "every night since 1970."

Meanwhile, Jagger continued to show his signature stage energy and charisma while performing, even at age 78. He was even happy to rekindle the decades-old rivalry with the Beatles - even though he insisted such a rivalry never existed. After Paul McCartney referred to the Stones as a "blues cover band," Jagger responded during a performance in Los Angeles. “There are so many celebrities here tonight,” Jagger noted from the stage. “Megan Fox is here, she’s lovely. Leonardo DiCaprio, Lady Gaga, Kirk Douglas – misread that one. And Paul McCartney is here - he’s going to help. He’s going to join us in a blues cover later on.”

With the No Filter dates behind them, the Rolling Stones can now ponder what’s next. The band has been noncommittal about future plans, with Jagger admitting that recording new material without Watts will be "difficult." Still, the drummer recorded various drum parts before his death, and it's possible the band will look to build upon those sessions for its next album. Regardless of what the next step is, the Stones will find a way to soldier on.

“Some people said, ‘Oh, Charlie died, and you should have not done the tour — and stopped,” Jagger noted during an October interview. “And other people would think, 'The thing about the Rolling Stones throughout their career has been their resilience in the face of adversity.’ And we’ve had ups and downs, mostly ups, to be honest — but we’ve had adversity. And this was probably one of the most difficult ones.”

What's the point of making up stuff like that

I chalk that one up to just lazy/sloppy journalism, but not meaning to be 'inflammatory'. Had they said something like "even before the RESCHEDULED SHOWS" it would have been fine, and correct.

Since it implies Charlie languishing for more than a year, it raises more than one eyebrow

Coming Down Again…
Totally agree, JF. What a feat they pulled off! Despite all the naysayers and critics, they put on a hell of a tour. Looking forward to a 2022 announcement smileys with beer

Yes, more than likely a sloppy mistake. The writer meant “even before rescheduled dates were announced,” they planned to tour without him. As far as I know, UltimateClassicRock does not break news; it just aggregates it.

Funny Mick clip - might have been funnier if he was throwing stacks of hundred dollar bills all around in celebration of another $ucce$$ful tour...
Keith certainly looks like he's happy, and more than ready for a nice long break with his family.

Farewell to the Stones...until the next time, thanks for the memories. thumbs up

Hollywood, FL has to have a higher average ticket price, right?

The NO FILTER tour has, apparently, the highest gross per show ever, just beating out U2's 360 gross per show, which was the highest for quite some time - hint - higher than the Stones. But that's just an average. Seeing that U2 sold out venues the Stones didn't as well as played different venues, your point is moot.
