Can anyone tell me why Lisa Fischer toured with the band on Steel Wheels but when the tour went to Europe and Asia she was replaced? Also, can anyone tell me what Blondie Chaplin brings to the table, personally I'd prefer some more Brown Sugar with Lisa and Bernard.

You sure Lisa was on the Steel Wheels tour?

Blondie has been playing a lot of guitar on the arena shows (perhaps the stadium shows too) but they hide him behind the amps for some reason.

Definitely, she was a few years younger with a bit more curl in her hair and was acompanied by another fine female back up singer.

You're right, I've checked, she was there indeed.

Blondie, Bernard and Lisa are behind the amps for the first three songs.

any time lisa dones backup the stones shouldn't hav her hidin backstage like on YGMR this tour ,,as far as urban 90 i dont no why she wasn't there ,,but i would guess she may hav made an album at that time or had other studio appointments

Lorelei McBroom and Sophia Jones replaced Lisa and Cindy Mizelle for the European shows

I think Lisa was promoting her solo album in 1990.

How much money do you reckon the side musicians make per tour? Several hundred thousand? More?

generally, no

I did read a while back a post someone made on that subject. They do pretty well but for most of them it wouldnt be on that scale (dont forget their expenses are all taken care of too)

There's a bit of a difference between what the likes of Bobby or Chuck would earn compared to say the horn section

I would guess chuck gets at least a million per tour if each member of the
stones pulls in about 50 million

I remember Lisa had previous commitments to Luther Vandross whom she used to say had top billing in her book.
Urban Jungle wasnt even announced until after the Japanese shows in 1990. I doubt very much they contracted the back up group for a year back then. I think if the US part of Steel Wheels sucked for them i.e. Mick and Keith fighting- the tour would have ended there.
