let's have a look at your guitar

Guitars pictures from catalogs & websites usually look all polished and unused.
mainly for sale purpose - nothing special about them. Of course there are some beauties out there.
but I would like to see the guitars you work with.
wear & tear can make a guitar very unique - so lets have a look at your baby.

here's my "Rockinger" Tele from 1981.
mahogani body, oiled and waxed,
rosewood fretboard,
brass pickguard and
6 piece brass bridge
Seymoure Duncan STL Vintage'54 pickups.
the sound is warmer than a standard Telecaster & I love it.
this is my workhorse - studio & live.

...as I don't have a good digital cam, I put the guitar on the scanner (hint)winking smiley

now post your pictures

cheers

Mine isn't that old and it hardly differs from the factory-version if you'd compare them. But I love your guitar, it's very beautiful!

Reptile, thx for the compliment.

JumpingKentFlash, that's a Ephiphone -right?
how old is yours, does it have wear marks?

liddas, my stage suit usually is a pair of black levis and a black suit jacket.
I'm not sure if I wanna see a pic of myself on this board. guess its easy to imagine tho.

ChrisM, yeah nice LesPaul. Is that birdseye maple?
what does R8 stand for?
I see the stoptailpiece isn't as shining as it used to be. that's some wear.
hmm - 1 of 5.

Hi open G. The R8 refers to 1958 which is model year this guitar is meant to emulate. The tail piece and all the hardware are nickel which oxidizes fairly quiclky. This picture was taken over two years ago so it has alittle more wear now. Unfortuantely I don'thave pictures of my other guitars at the moment but I can tell you that they are a 1998 Fender Telecaster, a 1977 Martin D28, a 2004 Epihone EJ 300 and a Guild 512 12 string of early '70s vintage.

Thanks Kyriakos for the kind words. The veranda os actually the top of the fire escape at our old flat. We live elsewhere now. As to the guitar, I just got a Fender Tweed Blues Deluxe all tube amp and man what a differnence in tone! Smoking!

ChrisM, such an amp would cost a fortune in Greece! Play the intro of "Midnight Rambler" just for me. Are you from the States, Europe or elsewhere?

I'm in the San Francisco area but California has seceded from the Union and we are now callled Arnieland. When I get home I certainly will play notjustthe intro but the wholw song! Th gutar and amp would capture the tone of the original nicely but of course not exactly! I got the amp off ebay for $300.00 by the way.

ebay is a wonderful place but it's always caveat emptor when you buy site unseen.
