Not a problem Elmo. I find it amazing that these guys sell a ton of records! How and why is that??? It seems to me that the majority of them don't have any musical talent whatsoever but they still get a record contract!! I find it amazing that these guys sell a ton of records! How and why is that??? That's kinda hard to decide since I normally don't like bashing people, but if I had a record label, I would not have signed Scooter. If you don't know them, they're a techno-pop band from Germany whose sound has been nearly unavoidable in the dorfdiscos around here since the mid-90s.
Aside from that (or is it B-side, ha ha ;-), I'd rather post the names of unsigned artists that I would sign if I had a label...

I disagree with the hip hop thing.
Sure there are a lot of rap artist with no musical talent, but there are also artists with very good tracks.
Especially in the 80s and early 90s: Public Enemy, De la soul, A Tribe Called Quest, LL Cool J, KRS ONE and others. And the gangster rap movement of the mid 90s was also intresting: 2Pac (the albums he made when he was alive), the first Snoop Doggy Dogg album, Dr Dre's The Chronic & 2001, NWA.
These days there's one or two good hiphop artists every 5 years (Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Kanye West and some others).
But to most people when they think of hiphop they think of people like 50 cent, Eminem, Ludacris, Fat Joe and Shit like that. But that's not what hiphop stands for. There are/were tons of great artists.

However, to get into the spirit of things, I nominate Jessica Simpson. She was a one hit wonder over here in the UK, it'll she MTV Europe started airing that god awful programme with her and her bloke in.
