OT - Happy Canada Day!
Posted by: SomeTorontoGirl ()

It’s a little different this year - no fireworks, no parties, but still lots to appreciate. Post your favourite Canuck music, stories, memories (lots of Stones memories!) or whatever. My first Stones show was Toronto Rocks (SARStock) in 2003, last one so far was Burl’s Creek last year, 28 others in 8 countries in between, and you fine folk have been a big part of that fun trip. But today, it starts with the Hip - miss you, Gord. smileys with beer

I know...[sigh] I had a bag of souvenir guitar picks and everything. Am I deluding myself, or will those picks someday be as sought after and valuable as the poster from the cancelled Cardiff show in the ‘70s? grinning smiley

And today was going to be Stones in Charlotte for Canada Day. I’m really very grouchy about the whole thing. sad smiley

HAPPY CANADA DAY to all my fellow Canadian IORRers! Ironically my small town near Vancouver will be having fireworks tonight!! Social distancing is mandatory and people are encouraged to watch it from their vehicles. Too bad the weather is cloudy with showers today. Oh well.

If it was going to rain on a Canada Day, it may as well have been in the pandemic. Some good timing maybe.

Good ones? No, just these. Sorry.

Did you hear the joke about the guy who tattooed the map of Canada on his butt?
Every time he sits down, Quebec separates.

How do you get 50 Canadians out of a swimming pool?
Say: Please get out of the swimming pool.

A man was strolling along the Beaches area in East Toronto when he spotted a bottle floating in Lake Ontario. The bottle drifted ashore. He picked up the bottle and opened it, and out popped a Genie.
“Master, Master you have released me from my bondage in this bottle, ask any three wishes and I will grant them to you.”
The man thought for a moment and said, “I would like the following three things to happen this year — The Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley
Cup, the Toronto Blue Jays win the World Series and The Toronto Raptors win the NBA title.”
The Genie thought about this for a moment and jumped back into the bottle.

On the matter of diplomacy, this might lead you to underestimate Canucks...

...but don’t be fooled. We are formidable foes, not above watering down the Whisky. grinning smiley

Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canuck IORRians!
There’s some fireworks and music in my local park today, I think some herb, some food and a day relaxing are in order.
