I've been to only nine shows since 1978 so many may feel that I'm a novice. I've only heard 87 different songs. What I saw Saturday night in Atlanta was great. I took my wife and two sons (16 & 20) and we had a blast. The energy from the crowd was fantastic. Its not all about the setlist. Its the way the songs are performed. I could not have asked for more.

Are you for real or is the gripe that people have just so far over your head that you don't understand what people are talking about. Read some of the other posts because I am not going to bother to explain this to you. Your post almost makes no sense and your comparisons are not relivent.

"get a good show 1 out of ten times"

Listen to some Dead boots, there weren't too many shows I would call bad like the Stones have.

Totally agree with lydlaws. I like the new albm but won't attend european shows next year. I'm not interested by bands who play the same old set-list every night. And it's soooooooo expensive !!
I saw 4 Stones shows in my short life (didn't see them before '98 unfortunatelly) and was impressed only 1 time and it was a club show.
I'm not interested by seeing a show on a screen !! And the sound is always terrible.
I'm also a Springsteen and Dylan fan and I'm happy with their shows again this year, they can play 150 different songs in a year. That's also why I like jam bands (Mule, Crowes).

J-J ..i have to respectfully disagree w/ you i have never been to a "bad" stones show some where better then others but i have definatly been to many bad dead shows!!!! sure the dead had some amazing shows as you know ,but they where so inconsistant it was redicules!!!.......

stickydion,

Your post missing the point of what people are upset about. What bands with such a large catelog of music plays the same 15 songs every tour and has big hits that are pretty much considered a treat or rarity if played live today.

More than a setlist problem, I would dare to say it's a live-version problem. It's almost the same arrangements since...

It's hearing the first notes of Tumbling Dice, and then hearing the backing vocals launch into "wooooo woooo woooooo" the same way since fifteen years ago.

I wouldn't mind hearing the same songs again, but I only ask for a somewhat fresh version of them...

[There'll be no wedding today...]

Bruno your are right.
There are so many ways to play stones warhorses.
Even Miss You can be very good when played with raw guitars.

It's completely incredible to see such a lack of imagination from the stones.
