Anyone have a Rock & Roll room in their house?
Posted by: Local27 ()
Date: October 14, 2005 21:33

I've recently converted my finished basement into a Rolling Stones / Rock & Roll haven (my wife took the rest of the house...lol). I have my entertainment center setup with Stones dvd's ready for viewing at any time. My guitars and amp set and ready to be fired up. Many 8X10 pics from my fav Stones tour...the N. American Tour '81. Some records framed on the wall. And my cd library readily available (not just the Stones). Now all I need is a refridgerator down there and I'm good to go.

Just curious if any of you have a simliar situation.....

Been Stoned since 1964 and still am!

Good post...and I have recently finished my basement up the same way. One half setup for the hidef widescreen with surround for DVDs (stones of course) and Football and the other half setup for the band> complete with Bar and retractable mic cords into the cieling. Had to keep Mama happy. Cause when Mama ain't happy...well you know the rest. Now...need some help with some Stones decor. Have a poster to laminate from last tour to start. The black and white one shrouded in Keef's cig smoke. Any other ideas?

I wanted a Keith-altar, but my wife wouldnt let me.

The compromise is a Marley-drapery soon to be hung up.

The kitchen/dining room -- we have a small house, and my PC desk is right next to the fridge. Of course, I keep a small cooler always well-stocked with beer on ice.

Adjacent to this is the living room -- there I have the DVD/stereo setup.

In my case, "The House Is A-Rockin" whenever I can get away with it.

"I keep a small cooler always well-stocked with beer on ice."

If I had that for a week my drinkin problem would be worse than Ron´s.

Problem? No problem, unless it's empty.

O, goddam it, Leonard; shall we trade (wives)?
A woman that likes heavy rock... Havent seen anyone of that kind for decades.
My wife listens to easy pop. But I like the contrasts too.
My music is my music. We can unite in some avantgarde-ish groups...
Sabbath, Purple, that pretty male rock, isnt it?
But I bet your half´s not into progressive rock; no lassie are!

yeah, shes young at heart...and likes hard rock....also some punk (clash, pistols, black flag, ramones, etc.) and lots of metal that i mostly dont care for but thats ok...and traditional country ...so, between all the bullshit we get along pretty well...and she likes to smoke and drink....so a lot of rocknroll parties all the time here between us...she also saw motorhead at the wiltern here in los angeles & took me to see ufo at the House of Blues...yur right, shes not much into the progressive stuff...or arty type stuff...shes a tough little one!!!

Baboon Bro, the girls in my household (wife & daughter) are fairly open-minded when it comes to my music -- they both like the Stones, AC/DC, Aerosmith and a few other harder-rocking bands. However, their personal favorites are in the (retch!) contemporary country vein. I'm still attempting to force-feed them some musical education (classical, reggae, blues, BRIAN WILSON, etc.) and some of it has taken. My daughter loves "Smile". That's a good start.

My whole condo is a rock and roll house.
A sound system and speakers in near most
all rooms, often in surround (ie master
befroom and living room). CD and album
shelves to the ceiling with my Stones posters
(tongue collection) in the open spaces.

Cellar in our house was redone last year. Cool bar with 2 taps. Stones posters/photos framed all over. Great sound system. The room rocks.

My flat is pure rock 'n roll. Very messy and with bottles in many places. It makes the guys from Dirty Sanchez look like boyscouts.
