Are you in a band?

What instrument do you play. What type of music do you play?

I've been retired from the active scene since 1997, but I played in bands for 22 years. The styles were all over the map, from hard rock to ballads to punk rock to disco and even country. All of it was interesting, as long as the material was good. Of course, my personal musical tastes are eclectic, so this helped.

'68 fender precision...sunburst with a rosewood neck...beat to hell but plays and sounds great! especially with the ampeg svt...toured & recorded with a band based in L.A called The Lazy Cowgirls (they lasted from 1983-2005)....the band sounds kinda like a hybrid of the n.y. dolls, jason & the scorchers meets the ramones and the stones...best wishes all

You guys rocked, Leonard.

By the way, I wonder how many people here know that one of your album titles is a direct nod to the Stones. (And I always liked to think that Somewhere Down the Line was as well!)

Cheers.

There was 3 of us including me and we wanted to start a band for a while, but there was no bass player and no time to practice. As a kid and maybe still today, my dream was to be the music programmer of a radio station.

I'm sure we crossed paths somewhere down the line.
I used to be in a band at that time called The Scraps,
and we did the whole Raji's, Palamino, LA club scene.

We atarted out as Rushin' Vodka then became Distillery, 4 or 5 guy that like to drink and play Stones covers and originals. I play drums. It's fun but no one take's it too seriously. When playing for fun becomes "we MUST practice this song" we will stop. The ultimate jamming band. We always said if we had a real good CD out (by chance) we would tour on the CD but could never play any of the CD because we would rather jam than practice. I have been lucky to play with some exceptional musicians.

It always surprises me how talent is not a promise of success. Luck, timing I'm not sure what it is but so many great musicians never get heard.

With my band Scoring Dope around South east USA. originals; I am a huge lifelong Stonesfan but we never play Stones stuff. Our band sounds nothing like the Stones. To me it is better like that...

A friend and I play as an acoustic duo called "High Rocks". Southeast US, particularly Georgia. Play a mix of rock, blues, a little country, and a few originals. Stones songs we do are "The Last Time", "Dead Flowers", "Angie", "Wild Horses", and, believe it or not, "Streets of Love"!!!!!

I'm a drummer and of course, I've played a lot of Stones stuff

Started in the sixties with

Vernor Highway Blues Band in Detroit (Stones and Butterfield)

Concrete Watermelon in Detroit (Stones and Hendrix)

Bear and the Bobcats in Atlanta (Stones and classic rock)

Currently in a forming band that will be classic rock, r&b, etc.

I'm in an out of tune blues band called Yard Party. We don't play clubs, we play parking lots and grocery store openings. We recorded an album but were disgusted by the 7 figure offers thrown at us by various major labels, so we decided to just give it away.
