I know many people do not like Dave Matthews here. I do. I actually think his band is really really good. They will probably play NJ the night before and the night after the 1st NJ show. So we might have Dave show up as support or guest. Who knows.
[antsmarching.org]

I'm all for it if it means working out the issue with his label or management to allow NO SECURITY to be reissued. I also want some sort of compilation that includes the Four New Licks and Grrregory's two new droppings. I can live with Greatest Hits collections going out of print, but I hate having any of their studio or live recordings unavailable. It's poor stewardship of their catalog.

Is it he and his label (or management) that is blocking the reissue?
If so, maybe the Stones can replace the tune he's on with something that most people would actually like!

Also agree about all new songs that were included on those compilations - even though I don't like them much, seems a shame to have them buried.

"Grrregory's two new droppings"...lol...that came across rather funny.

With all due respect, No, no NO! But they obviously agree with you so you may in fact be correct.

Carter Beauford is one of the best drummers around. Looking forwars to that gig.

Some decent musicians and a few decent songs - Crush is the only tune I can name as I remember it from the radio.
But generally speaking I really can't stand Dave Matthews vocals for some reason, and he single handedly ruined Memory Motel on No Security.

Crush is a fantastic song. Or do you mean Crash? That is different cup of tea.

Thats a great song too and you can watch some great rock drumming right there.

Well, I let you think that CB is a decent musician. But the sheer amount of concerts they played as a jam band and the amount of high quality live records - eg 45 live traxs multi CDs. I have all of them it is some great stuff.

No I meant Crush - it was played quite often on KTYD radio station in Santa Barbara when it was released and when I lived up there.
And thanks for allowing me to think CB is a decent musician. If it makes you feel better I'll say he's great, but no amount of great musicianship can hide Matthews' vocals.

I was told it hasn't been reissued because of a problem with clearance for Dave Matthews. I thought for sure the NO SECURITY FROM THE VAULT release would be in conjunction with a reissue of the proper live album, but no. And yes, I agree I would rather they replace it with a version of "Memory Motel" without him. I don't think that's the intent, though.

As for "Grrregory's two new droppings," I can't resist making fun of that ridiculous gorilla and album title and wanted to play upon the FOUR NEW LICKS promo EP.

Glad someone appreciated it.

Dave must have listened to the track. If I were him I wouldn't want it out either.

Does this mean we are expecting them to remove Wild Horses from the forthcoming updated Bridges to Babylon, St Louis release? It was on the original release although other songs like The Last Time were oddly omitted. I'm hoping for a complete release of this concert and it would be stupid for them to remove a song they already released previously.

I don't think they'll omit or replace a track that was originally released (much as I would prefer replacement). When BRIDGES TO BABYLON UNCUT is released, they'll likely reissue NO SECURITY having resolved the issues with clearance from Matthews' camp.

I agree with you, if the word "singing" is removed.

This might make some people smile... I've been hearing about people in their 20s that have gotten tickets "to the Stones" at Jazz Fest.

JetBlue or Delta. There is also Spirit, but they nickle and dime you with extra fees.

FYI - Flying into Fort Lauderdale might be cheaper, especially on JetBlue.
Fort Lauderdale is less then an hour from Miami.
You should also check flights from Newark airport in NJ.
Good luck!

Avoid Spirit. Besides the nickel and diming if there is a mechanical issue you are screwed. A friend booked them Oakland to Vegas and it took 23 hours including 15 on the tarmac while repairs were done. He saved $20 but wasted a day and a $200 hotel room.

Not sure I'd cut Keith down to one number even if I could.
I'd trade Miss You for The Worst, Little T&A, or Salt of the Earth.

Let's swap out a couple more too...YGMR? How about OOC instead?

IORR only if done in the original style, like Mick and Dave Grohl did on SNL. A blues b-stage set, brought back to the main stage with SFTD. Swap Miss You out for Emotional Rescue. Instead of YCAGWYW, Moonlight Mile.

...and, I almost hate to say it, but SFM in for JJF, or maybe just add one more in and have 21 songs.

Hi,I can't decide whether to go to the New York City (East Rutherford) shows or the Chicago shows. I can't go to both. Is one or the other considered to be more special shows?

If the differences in the actual cities (theaters, sightseeing etc) aren't a big factor, I would go with the Chicago shows.
Always special to be at the closing show imo, and I am looking forward to some exciting club shows etc surrounding the concerts.

Thanks for the advice. I know what you mean about closing shows. Also, I think Chicago is a special place for the Stones, too, with its ties to the blues.

I have been to New York City a number of times but only to Chicago once for a short visit. I haven't gone there yet, but I would recommend the Art Institute of Chicago to anyone going to the Chicago shows. It is a world class art museum. The museum houses the painting American Gothic (the famous picture of the farmer with a pitch fork and his wife).

I hope people don't think this is a trivial warning, but I think people should be warned: if you are afraid of heights, you will be petrified driving on Highway 1 along the California coast. The views of the ocean are absolutely breathtaking but will be very hard to handle if you are afraid of height. The road is narrow and very close to the cliff edge. It seems easy (but probably is not) that you could fall of the edge and plunge hundreds of feet (?) into the ocean! If you have this fear you might want to avoid what would otherwise be an incredible site to see.

I've been to both several times, and I prefer Chicago over New York for a variety of reasons.

Thanks Hairball. I thought that maybe New York was going to be considered the special show, but I think I want to go to Chicago (because I have seen the Stones in New York already - well Brooklyn at the Barclay Center and I have already explored New York and not Chicago). So since you and Mr. DDDD think Chicago is a good bet, that encourages me to go to Chicago! Now all I have to do is get some cheap pit tickets there!

I would do NY, but that's because I grew up there, have loads of friends there, a free place to stay and a friend's bar where I get to drink for free smileys with beer. That said, seeing end of tour pretty cool since no guarantees of another tour (same as past tours).
