Not overly familiar with Brooks but I know his gigs are mega popular. He often does 2 shows a day. And I read the other day he makes a point of keeping his tickets as affordable as possible and making every ticket the same price regardless of what section you are in.

he got offered to 2 gigs in one day in Croke Park but refused to as it was impossible and he was prob right as it would be a logistical nightmare for Croke Park staff and event staff

He's to country music what the stones are to rock n roll. He's a pretty big deal in the US and has made millions on this tour there

anyway back to Stones talk, is there a possibility the band may be told they have to rehearse indoors somewhere instead of at Croke Park

Please get your facts right here. Brooks was offered three nights. He and Aiken looked for five nights. In addition, One Direction got a licence for three nights which they played.

The band will, obviously, rehearse somewhere other than Croke Park. I expect that the usual soundchecks will take place in Croke Park on the day before the show/ day of show.

Thanks Healy. You're our 'boots on the ground' on this one. If it doesn't go ahead it just means the 1st night of the tour will be London 1 instead. Really would like a Dublin show though. It's over 2 months away so no panic yet.

Right - the [www.Independent.ie] mentioned only that the Dublin City Council has a meeting.

Even if they have discussed the license for a 4th concert - if 50% of the Councillors would have voted 'Yes' and the other 50% of the Councillors would have voted 'No': then they have to discuss it again and it would take additional time ....

I remember going to the offices of The Irish Times and The Irish Press after the 1982 Slane gig to view their photographers. BV subsequently featured some of them in the magazine.

Yesterday I booked my flight to Dublin the day before the show.
I guess it was a gamble until the show is official, but at $99 from NY it was good insurance.

Thank you for posting. I have the first photograph plus many newspaper clippings from the 1982, 2003, and 2007 shows in Slane and Dublin.

I was near the front of the stage for the two Dublin gigs in 2003 and I went Gold Circle (Keith’s side) for Slane in 2007. I was very near the front for that one as well. I was much further back in 1982.

I was right down front in '82. My first ever Stones show. And I was one of the people in that article who got sprayed with water by Mick himself. It felt like I'd been re-baptised.

in 2007 i remember you had to buy tickets for a golden circle side, but in fact there was no fence behind the b stage so in fact it was just one area.
