Well, they directly asked who my partner is put the bands on our wrists. Not sure if they accept if you come alone

I said my partner was in the pub across the street and they gave me the extra wristband.

And still. Sales are enforced in pairs for all 8. If that changes then we know they’re really panicking.

Did anyone attending Dublin buy 2x2 lucky dips ie 4 in total on the same card and manage to get all 4 people in with no hassle. I’ve purchased 4 tickets in total for Southampton and I’ve been getting mixed feedback from people that have done this at previous shows.

Thanks. Just bagged two for London next week. Looks like they’re available for all dates as of now.

A few weeks back someone at axs.com called and asked wether I wanted to buy another Lucky Dip ticket for the shows I had only bought one. So I did that but didn't receive any confirmation nor have my tickets changed on the axs.com website. Does anyone know how this works?

So how did all the Dippers fare in Dublin?

Spoke to people who got LD in Dublin. Everyting was possible: seats up near the roof or pit.

AS far as I heard, LDs were pretty much all over the place. I managed to change my upper tier under the roof to lower seating. Everyone once very helpful, organized and relaxed cool smiley

Lucky Dips, currently the ‘Hottest deal’ on bargain website in the U.K.

For some reason Edinburgh does not guarantee seats will be together.
Can only proceed if you say you will accept split seats.

UPDATE:

After a few attempts the warning about split seats disappeared.

Two tickets purchased for £70 - a bargain!

Dublin lucky dip reports
Posted by: syrel ()

I know some of this is discussed elsewhere, but can Lucky Dip holders from Dublin reply in this thread so the info is in one place:

- where did you get allocated? I haven't seen many reports of people getting pit, which is odd given how much space there was in there (at least on Keith's side).
- what was the collection system? Were you forced straight into the venue?

This info might help people with LDs for the upcoming shows.

thanks

syrel

I picked up my tickets at the ticket office outside the ground and got Pit A - couldn't believe it!

It was a proper lucky dip too - I picked an unmarked envelope from a box. We got given wristbands for some reason and that was it - no escort into the stadium.

Yep, I picked up my LD with my partner at the box office front of Gill's Pub. The lady banded or wrists, and then we had showed me a box to pick an envelope...
I ended up nosebleed 708 Cusack Stand Upper Tier ... went to the steward and told them I am afraid of height (which is true, I actually went up there, but could not even think of going down to the seats) they ten friendly directed me to customer service, and a friendly, helpful lady indicated a tent where I could change my ticket, They were just as friendly there, and with no hassle, they gave us tickets in the lower Cusack Stand.

I got section 310 and a friend got Pit A. We entered the stadium a few hours after that.

The reason for the wristband was that you couldn't sell the LD after receiving them. On the tickets there was also Lucky Dips printed. So if you had a LD ticket without the wristband they knew that you are not the original buyer and they probably wouldn't have let you in.
BUT as far as I know nobody controlled that. So it was more a theoretical thing.

Yes, us too. The box office is a couple of minutes walk from the cutlas stadium. They put the bands on us, but nobody cared what we did afterwards, As we came early to pick uo, after not being really lucky, we decided te head of to the Big Tree pub to have a beer before deciding what to do ... go in and try to change the ticket or drop the LD and buy another ticket.

BTW, I was asked several times if I had a sore ticket to sell, but no-one who offered one, but there was a tickemaster van next to the box office that sold tickets, all categories, all price range, no discounts

Thanks for the reports so far. So it sounds like the wristbands are meant as a way of ensuring no resale, but stewards checking tickets at the gates were not actually checking wristbands - is that right? Did anyone get their wristband checked?

Those who got pit - were the wristbands the same as the pit wristbands?

Was anyone allowed to take a pair of LDs with a spare wristband if they turned up alone? I will be arriving earlier than my friend and am wanting to pick up the tickets sooner.

Haven't seen many reports of people getting LD pit tickets yet, sounds like there might be fewer than there were last year.

keep the reports coming!

In Dublin, you could turn up alone.

I went alone and got the LDs and they put a wristband on me and gave me the other one to put on my friend.

Nobody controlled the Lucky Dip wristband. And for that matter, security was pretty much a joke. No patdowns or anything. I did not have a bag and was just basically waved through.

Oh and the LD pair I got were KR side lowers.

It will be worth it for The Specials alone.

Don’t be too quick to bash Coventry. Until WW2 it was a beautiful old Tudor city with many fine buildings and a Cathedral. It was reduced to rubble in one night in November 1940. You can blame the poor taste, planning and judgement of the cheapskating post war authorities for how it was rebuilt.
