1 Amsterdam (pit)
2 arnhem (seated)
3 lucca (field)
4 Hamburg (seated)

Jeroen.

Hamburg was a surprise... Came in with few expectations.
Lucca was great because of atmosphere, the italians and the old town
Arnhem was hot n rocking and great rnr
Amsterdam was heartstopping

jeroen

Same here, just replace Arnhem (which unfortunately I couldn't attend) with Paris 2.

Despite being the lowest ranked in this table, Hamburg was a very, very special show.

I only did 2 shows this time around, Stockholm and Paris 3. Stockholm had a great setlist but there were a lot of wonky stuff going around (missed cues and 'all, Midnight Rambler first verse, Flash last verse comes to mind, but that's why we love 'em! Trainwreck Blues, could be a great title!).

Paris 3, like a well-oiled machine! We have NOT seen the last show yet I tell ya, it could've been a show from 1978! SFM what can I say, easily the best one I ever had, and that goes for SSC as well. Not that keen on SAR, I would rather have a Backstreet Girl or She Smiled Sweetly but pretty cool anyway and a far better version than the one in Stadio Nacional in Santiago. MR always takes me from Europe to deep down Louisiana when they play it in Paris. Something in the air? Les croissants perhaps?

The highlight for me was that Keith had my self-printed Stones t-shirt on his head during the bows in Paris. My friend back in Stockholm gave me it before the Ole OLe Tour as he prints his own Stones shirts. That alone made my trip.

I hope Keith decides to keep it.smileys with beer

4 shows for me this tour.either Pit or Behind it.
Rated in this order ;

Paris 2 - untouchable greatest band firing on all cylinders

Paris 3- excellent tour ending . Close to Paris 2 Best Rambler.

Barcelona - great show . The audience made it special

Hamburg - understandably a bit rusty but longer excellent set list.

Best Show Europe 2017?

Hi Stones-Fans,

the question is tough, but out of "only" two shows I saw:

1) Hamburg, we were in the silver pit, first row on Ronnie's side (beginning of the Tour, 22 songs & a really fantastic setlist),

2) Düsseldorf, we had sub-rank tix (normaly seated, but we were standing the whole show!) on Keith' side, fantastic view (I really enjoyed "Bitch", great sound - only the audience was a bit to reserved in my opinion). Additional we had to celebrate a cool anniversary - exactly 44 years ago, my mother saw her first Rolling Stones show (Essen, Grugahalle, 9th October 1973, evening show).

The ultimate show I saw is still Circus Krone 2003... this was hot, hot, hot... :-)).

Cheers,
Daniel

Out of the ones I went to: Hamburg (Pit), Munich (Pit), Barcelona (Front Standing), Paris 1 (Pit), Paris 2 (Front Standing), Paris 3 (Pit). I have three main 'winners' from my point of view...

Hamburg wins for setlist

Barcelona wins for atmosphere

Paris 2 wins for camaraderie and warmth between band members

I've seen the band 3 times on this tour and my personal ranking is:

1. Paris 2 (pit) - finally heard Angie, amazing band performance + got Pit in Lucky Dip, was in the second row on the Keith's side and even got Darryl's pick

2. Amsterdam (GA) - great excitement because it was my first concert after 3 years of waiting, good public and Shine a Light

3. Paris 1 (Fosse Or)

The one that I haven't been and I would like the most: Hamburg because of the setlist

Concerts i attented:

1. Dusseldorf; band on fire !
2. Arnhem; great show, too much echo.
3. Hamburg; great setlist, bit rusty first half of the show.

From what i saw on youtube Zurich seemed fantastic, also Amsterdam.

Well to be able to tell which has been the best show of the tour, one would have to be there everytime and it still would be a subjective opinion.

But it's nice to read the diffrent experiences of people so I'd like to share mine as well.

I have been at:

Zurich (Lucky Dip, seating on the side)
Paris II (Lucky Dip, GA).

Zurich was great, as I had no expectations (no pun intended grinning smiley), intentionally didn't search for the setlist of previous concerts and was absent from IORR for a couple of weeks before showday. Then surprise after surprise, SFD as an opener, the brilliant blues songs, Dancing with Mr. D and of course LARS! And in the second half a fantastic Street Fighting Man and Gimme Shelter as an encore. Despite the chilly weather I couldn't habe been more happier on the way home!!

Paris I feel a little bad now for feeling bad around and after the show. It was another great experience, but because of all the organisation mess-ups beforehand like giving away Pit tickets for Lucky Dip prices so we and many people got GA in the end, bad queing system, apparently no or at least minimum briefing for staff outside the arena etc. I got a bit angry.
Then setlistwise I got dissapointed by the song vote choice and for not hearing a Stones song I haven't heard so far.
Highlights were the surprising start with arguably the best starter ever, JJF, and getting Hate to see you go again. So after all it was my fault to let outside circumstances get in my way and not enjoy the show the way it was.

As those have been my shows # 8 and 9 I really hope to be able to get to #10 next summer in the UK! cool smiley

Respectfully,
calipachangero

I saw 8.

1. Amsterdam (Pit)
2. Arnhem (Pit)
3. Stockholm (Pit - underrated show on this forum; lousy crowd, great gig)
4. Paris I (Carre Or)
5. Paris III (Pit)
6. Paris II (Carre Or)
7. Hamburg (Silver Pit - Ranked low, but probably the most pleasantly surprising show of the tour)
8. Düsseldorf (GA - ridiculous aweful sound. Never GA for me anymore in that Esprit Arena)

Overall, a good tour, but without the ‘four and a half stars-gigs’ they did on their previous European Tour (Pinkpop, Paris, Düsseldorf).

bowiestone.....i agree with you ...Stockholm was really underrated in this forum.....great gig and Keith was so funny like in Zürich

1) Zürich
We were at Ron side in the pit and the sound was GREAT!!
Pls notice - Zürich was open air and no roof with steel was there!!!!!!!!!

2) In Arnhem (roof closed) and 3) Düsseldorf (roof closed) we had good seating places but the sound in Zürich Pit was the BEST!

Band was on fire in all 3 concerts!

I did all 14 from pretty much the same place in the pit on Ronnie's side (except in Lucca where I went on Keith's side).

As always there were no bad shows, there are great shows and then there are the exceptional ones. To be a truly outstanding show everything needs to come together; performance, sound, audience enthusiasm etc... I could debate it all day in my head but for me the over all winner was Paris 2 with the switch to JJF as the opener, they just stepped it up that little extra. They had the most family and friends in town and made it count. When it comes to overall experience Lucca was incredible, what an beautiful place buzzing with excitement for the arrival of the concert and what great hospitality from the promoter including a tongue topped 10kg Panettone!

In general the shows got better and better until Dusseldorf. The band became more relaxed and started to enjoy themselves more and more.

Hi Matt - I saw you in several youtube clips over the course of the tour! Must have been a thrill to see all 14 shows, and especially Paris 2.
That show came across as the best from my virtual experience, and now that I know some of the backstory it all makes sense.

"the over all winner was Paris 2 with the switch to JJF as the opener, they just stepped it up that little extra. They had the most family and friends in town and made it count".

thumbs up

Best show? I attended 5 shows and they were all special in different ways so I will write my thoughts in chronological order.

1. HAMBURG. I love 1st nights of tours and always endevour to be there. Band understandably rusty but what an amazing setlist. Best of all, I shared the show experience with 9 others, covering 6 nationalities. 8 were IORRians - DP, ErwinH, Wild Sliwowitz and Steinschlag (all IORR Band members too!) plus Silver Dagger, Msn of Wealth and Taste and Robber Bride.
Best show for socialising and setlist. Best 'sense of occasion'.

2. BARCELONA. 6th show ofvtour and A tighter performance on a warm balmy night and the best atmosphere with enthusiastic fans. All those Ole Ole chants were fantastic. I queued for 8 hours in the Sun and met some great people from all over with great stories to tell. I got 2nd row in Pista A at the end of the catwalk behind the Early entry folks.
Best atmosphere.

3. PARIS 1. Brand new venue and My 1st ever Lucky Dip experience. I got Fosse and a great viewing spot to the far right where the rail bends towards the stage. Got Under Amy Thumb for the 3rs show in s row.

Good show but passive crowd and though the sound was excellent at my spot I'm aware it was poor elsewhere.

4. PARIS 2. Another Lucky Dip show, got Fosse and stood very close to same spot as Show 1, but only 3rd row. Excellent sound, and great interaction between band members on stage. Stronger than show 1 and helped along by a much more responsive crowd. Let down a little by a shambolic queueing system outside.

5. PARIS 3. In Fosse Or, and didn't arrive until 7pm. Still got a good spot in 3rd or 4th row, Ronnie side, off centre. Best Paris performance (slightly shading 2 but perhaps just perception because of my much better spot) and I finally got She's so Cold live, after 26 lifetime shows.
I'm no musician, but this may have been the best performance I witnessed.

Here is my short review:

I saw the Stones 8 times during this Tour, so i can only talk about these shows.... i don´t wanna judge the other shows, only after the youtube videos, cause its totally different to see them live or to see a youtube video.

Hamburg - Silver pit : Best setlist, a bit rusty , understandable premier show
Munich - Seating floor : Good atmosphere, playing better than in Hamburg
Zurich - Golden circle: one of the best shows of the Tour, great sound, Keith was fab and very funny
Amsterdam - Premium standing: Again great show, fantastic crowd,
Copenhagen - No Filter Pit: Like Amsterdam great show, fab sound
Düsseldorf - Seating floor: Best crowd in Germany, another great show.
Stockholm - No Filter Pit : One of the best shows. Unfortunatly quiet crowd.
Arnhem - No Filter Pit: Besides Zurich and Stockholm the best show. Very powerful and again in The Netherlands great crowd

You' re lucky, grzegorz67! I'm still "searching" for Dead Flowers, Beast Of Burden and All Down the Line. (I got SSC in 2006, Porto gig. I think the song works very well live).
