@georgelicks I still don't understand where this 150.000 sold units figure came from? As far as I followed the ongoing count it looks more like 80.000....which is disastrous compared to the ticket sales.

If I was a Stone I wouldn't care about making a new album anymore. Why all the fuss for this lack of public support? I wouldn't even bother to go on tour again just to satisfy all the curious onlookers in a stadium impatiently waiting for the Satisfaction opening riff.
Ok, one might say Europe sales are better than in the USA, but even a No.2 album or a 1-week peak position is not enough honour for titans of the music business as the Stones are.

It's amazing and sad...I checked a local mom and pop record store a few days before ABB came out just to see if the owner might sell me a copy before the official release date...the owner is a middle aged long time Stones fan....he was wearing a Stones t-shirt and cap when I asked him about the new album...he gave me a puzzled look and said he had no idea the Stones were even releasing a new album...at first, I thought he was joking...unfortunately, he wasn't

Its still a humiliating indictment that 95% plus of the band's concert audience in the US (people who for the most part paid $180 - 450 for a ticket) couldnt care less about anything the band have done in a quarter of a century and cant divert about $12 of their cash to buy a CD. For them, the Stones may as well have disbanded in 1981.

yet they still manage to sell cds better in Europe, where it seems theyre still seen as a current act

According to the Daily Double site, w/ 65% sales in, ABB is up to a comfortable (I hope) # 3, just over 85,000 sales - a good lead over Mariah's 56,000 at # 4. This - I wonder - may be thanks to upcoming NYC shows & the big Chicago crowd at a great show - YES, keep buying this motherf***er! And Stones keep playing it live! As in, BOMH & 3-5 more!

That's (# 3) what B2B did. Let's see if it has legs.
