Captain,

Thought I'd just revive this post for your gloating pleasure.
Didn't Australia then lose the last 5 wickets for about 10 runs?

Our Australian cousins have gone uncharacteristically quiet!

Yes - not a happy time in Oz at the moment.
But I'm actually pleased our cocky cricketers got beaten.
Our Captain is earning 1 million dollars a year!!! Over-paid I reckon!

oh I dunno. I got great pleasure out of watching England at Windsor Park last Wednesday night, myself...!

Me too - got pleasure, though not there in body! I did think of you and wondered if you were a footy fan.

(I'm not anti-English but was just pleased for the 'underdog' - hope that's not too insulting).

not insulting at all...like everyone here, I thought we'd get hammered to be honest and logic dictated that he would. Beating a team a hundred places above us in the rankings was genuinely astonishing....and yeah, as youve guessed I'm a footie fan (go and watch my local team every week, and was at the England/NI game in Manchester in March as well as last week's one in Belfast)...So, I know all about suffering!..it made the last few years of watching shit worthwhile!

I thought you were English until reading your last post there!

This was a great Ashes series. Even aside from the results, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

yes well done to the limey's! - i'm an aussie but i would have to say that we were outplayed hugely, but i was blown away by their bowling throughout in particular. as an aside, is it true keith's a bit of a cricketer, bowls seamers evidently, and loves getting together with the Wingless Angels when he's in the Windies to roll the arm over?

Mick Jagger was interviewed live from New York last night on the UK ITV's Evening News with Trevor MacDonald. No pictures, just audio feed. He gave his opinion on the result and said he's been following the cricket on the TV during the US Tour. So that's what Mick does before a show...

I always wondered, are you cricket fans all retired pensioners, or what do you do when there's a match: take a week off?

You might have to scrape me off the floor at the end of the tour, but it'll be really good scrapings. - Mick Jagger

Well greg,

A Test Match lasts five days (usually), and two of those days are a Saturday and Sunday. No problem there for your 'normal' nine to fivers.

The other days are Thursday, Friday and (possibly) Monday. You phone in sick those days and get drunk while watching the cricket on the television.

With Stones at full blast ofcourse!

After about three or four test matches the boss might get a bit suspicious of course - but then you just make sure you get a job where the boss is a cricket (and preferably Stones') fanatic. Then you get special leave, arrange flexitime, or simplest of all just have it televised at work.
