"fag rock band"? Wow. I mean I knew some people on here were kinda immature but that's about junior high-level at the most. And Bono is in the top 5 front men of all time, not the worst. Like him or not he's a great performer, songrwriter and a cool character in general.

Sorry to have offended you, you're 100% right, I shouldn't use that term. I just meant wimpy, nothing homophobic. Sorry about that.
Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.
stones89...gotta disagree about johnny rotten...rottens name is totally tongue-in-cheek humor (look at his teeth)...i love his original anti-rock stance back when it was totally unfashionable...the guy has GUTS!!! and a great stage persona...great look back in 76-78...stood out by a mile..plus great rock (nevermind the bollocks) best wishes
I remember seeing Mr. Rotten was he was with PIL at the Beacon in NYC. He bent over and mooned the crowed, and then proceeded to pull a tampon out of his ass, spin it around by the string and and fling it into the crowd.
Pretty nasty. I don't remember his singing, but I remember that.

cindyc...thats one memory i'd wanna erase....saw pil at the olympic auditorium in los angeles 1980 (those were the "punk" days when you'd get beat up for having long hair (ridiculous, of course) but that was the "musical climate" then....i remember that show for the crowd showering rotten/lydon with spit...he called the crowd "third rate" humans (which i agreed) and threatened to leave....pretty disgusting behaviour....i admire mr.lydon....he walks his own path...best wishes
Bono's "let's save the world" crap just gets tired and old.
I was going to say McCartney in my first post, but I thought that would be just plain mean. But I have a few beers in me now, so, what the hell! What a NERD! I'm so sorry, but I can't stand to even LOOK at the guy let alone watch him perform. Watch him, I mean, he just takes himself so seriously. If I hear "Hey Jude" one more time I think my head will explode. REALLY! It'll explode!
I love the Beatles, and I even like Wings, and a few select McCartney songs, and as much as I hate to slag off on anyone in the Beatles, I have to agree about Hey Jude, I just can't stand to hear it anymore. Additionally, I can't stand when Paul makes that stupid face, you know the one where he kind of purses his lips, and does that surprised thing with his eyes. What is that??? I wonder if he thinks its funny, or if he doesn't even realize he's doing it, which I could forgive, but for some reason I think he intentially does that, and I spend hours and hours thinking about why! (not really, that would interfer with all the work I'm not doing as I type this shit).
Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

Gotta disagree.I saw him in May and the guy ruled.I love his moves and the way he acts on stage. He is calm and concentrated and I really like him that way.Just it fits his image of one of the best guitar players ever.
I have to disagree with you asswipes that are slagging McCartney. I just listened to his "Unplugged" album from 1991 and it is so great. McCartney is relaxed, energetic and doing a great job. It is the best "unplugged" album I have listened to. Much better than Claptons or Dylans or the Stones (the one they called "stripped" because they didn't want to call it "unplugged").
McCartney is a great songwriter and to some extent he taught the stones how to write songs.
Really most of these old rockers really ought to just be put out to pasture.
Jagger delivers the goods still and that is amazing. But I don't think of him necessarily as a rock singer. Rock, blues, soul...every stlye with fluidity.
