Thanks margues. And as I see, from #10 to #18 there are local portuguse acts, only (some of them, fado singers, right?). So my observation about native acts takes one more confirmation.

Hello, You are right indeed.

Maybe vinyl lovers would like to read this article (from Billboard):

"UK Vinyl Sales in 2016 Hit Highest Level Since 1991

By Kat Bein

UK vinyl sales reached their highest number since 1991 with more than 3.2 million records sold, according to recent findings published by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

The mark represents a 53 percent increase from 2015. It still pales to the 45 billion audio streams recorded in 2016, and even falls short of the first 1 billion stream marker in December, but it's a big deal for what was once considered a near-dead medium.

David Bowie's posthumous Blackstar LP sold more than twice as many copies of 2015's top-seller, Adele's 25.

Outside of the wax world, Adele has the highest-selling album with 25, Drake's “One Dance” was the best-selling single, and music consumption was up an overall 1.5 percent, or 123 million albums consumed".

The Billbord 200
#18 Blue and Lonesome (22,000 units / 274,000 total)
#189 - RE ENTRY - Hot Rocks (3,500 units)

Billboard Top Album Sales
#3 Blue and Lonesome (21,136 / 269,050)

As we see, Blue and Lonesome is #3 on album sales but with streams included is down to #18 on The Billboard 200.
On the other way, Hot Rocks is not even Top 200 in sales (#200 album in sales has sold less than 1,600 copies) but the album re-entered at #189 on The Billboard 200 thanks to the big streaming points for Gimme Shelter (and Paint It Black on a fewer amount), all the streaming for Gimme Shelter, Paint It Black, SFTD, etc are going to the album with better sales on the same week, so Hot Rocks is the one, and it will go up next week thanks to Gimme Shelter, the song is being streamed like crazy in the USA during the last 24 hours.

The Hot Rocks chart span in the US is now over 45 years since January 8, 1972 when it charted by first time on Billboard.

There's no information about sales for both countries, sorry, even now we can see the news all over the press in Germany about the Stones back to #1 but no one gives a sales number.

The set barely made the charts in some countries (it reached #130 in the UK selling 900 copies), so with sales so low I can't imagine more than 15-20k worldwide at best.

Thanks for the info.

The low sales could explain why e.g. Highresaudio.com refuses to sell the Download-version (they said the demand for Mono-recordings is too low) and it could also explain why there's no SACD-version ....

"...so Hot Rocks is the one, and it will go up next week thanks to Gimme Shelter, the song is being streamed like crazy in the USA during the last 24 hours".

Interesting. Any explanation, georgelicks?

(Maybe many Americans need "Gimme Shelter", nowadays, as phsychological preparation for the upcoming Trump era - just kidding, BV don't take this as serious political comment...)

BTW, speaking about Hot Rocks: Georgelicks, if memory helps, HR has sold 15 million copies. All time chart by Media Traffic includes the 100 best selling albums ever. It includes albums with 8 million sales, but not Hot Rocks. Why?

There is another new thread about Gimme Shelter. It was played during the US college football championship game.

It looks as an outdated list, or they are counting the worldwide sales of HR by the half (7,5 million copies for a double album, its wrong but some sites are making the same mistake) or maybe they completely missed the album.
The Hot Rocks album sales will be always a mystery, its very hard to track sales for a 45 years old album with so many editions, during the 90's alone has sold over 2.2 million copies in the US.
