Word! Never thought I'd say this in a million years, but Stubhub is amazing (in this instance, at least).

Weather forecast as of today is for Santa Ana winds for Friday and Saturday. 90 high still but very dry, and will probably be windy. So I am bringing a bandana to put over nose and mouth if needed. Bring your asthma inhalers if you use them.

I assume the bands with the latter start times, when compared to the other bands,
will have the shorter sets - Bob Dylan/Rolling Stones.

I think maybe just a later start because its friday and gives people a little more time to get there after work etc.

Yes, this makes sense and Friday traffic is worse than the weekend.

I think that is correct. The Stones and Dylan sets are 2 hours, everyone else plays 2.5 hours.

A quick check of the interwebs sez curfew is typically midnight for Coachella.
I wouldn't go praising them for a 2:20 show based on that tho...

Desert Trip Weekend 1 Room Share Available.

Looks like I am in but trying to keep my cost on this as low as possible, so looking for someone to split the $150 a night cost on a room from Friday to Sunday, within walking distance of the Polo Fields.

You can't even find anything with a roof for under a thousand yet between this and the cheap tickets none of my friends are interested and this is the last stop before I become Craigslist's latest murder victim.

Me? Non-smoker, non-drinker and no drugs. You? Just be discrete.

There are supposed to be 2 queen beds. I know it has a coffee maker which is great because the biggest holdup for me was the thought of waiting in line at Starbucks for 3 hours. I am going to bring coffee so awesome you wouldn't believe it was off the clearance rack.

So, who wants to do this?

So, who

I can vouch for my friend Dan! If I wasn't set already w/room & transportation, I'd jump at this situation.
There's hardly anything available within a 50 mile radius, and if there is, the prices are outrageously inflated and overpriced (similar to Stones Vegas tix).
Nice hotel, walking distance, great coffee haha...an offer you shouldn't refuse!

He may have had a hand in designing the entire stage setup.
For those who saw his recent Wall shows, you know he went the extra mile to make for a mind-blowing visual experience.
And by the looks of the recent videos of his Mexico shows, it will have the same kind of visual impact and will be a sight to behold in person!!!

I think it would be very stupid not to play Just Your Fool tomorrow. There's no way around it.

If the stones open with 'Start Me Up', I may shoot myself. Please dear Lord, let them open the show with anything but that song. If they want folks to take them seriously, and still be considered relevant, they should steer clear of anything so formulaic and contrived as that. Hopefully they are in a new phase where they can reinvent themselves, and do some things a little bit out of the ordinary.

David Kilminster (guitar player for Roger Waters) posted this pic from the top of the giant stage at soundcheck yesterday.
Desert Trip
If you can ignore his big face haha, you can get an idea of the massiveness of the venue.
The pit looks bigger than I imagined (unless they're still setting up chairs), and those GA's seem like a mile away!
Incredible, and around this time tomorrow night the Stones will on that stage.thumbs up
Gotta admit, it's getting exciting...
