Hmmm...best concert/show ever as of thinking it as of this moment - Springsteen Seeger Sessions show in Phoenix, AZ 2006; best rock concert - Springsteen 1984 BITUSA Cap Centre, Largo MD, Neil Young with the Horse at Largo doing the tour where he did Blowin' In The Wind, F'in Up and such (loud, rude and what rock should be) among the songs, Sheryl Crow 9:30 Club in D-C with the Wallflowers as opening act lord knows what year that was - she rocked; David Bromberg Quartet Musical Instrument Museum Phoenix AZ 2015; Keith at Constitution Hall D-C and Tower Theater Philly 1988 and Main Offender tour Constitution Hall D-C 1992. There's other tours that may come to mind but these stand out.

BB King, Antwerp ( B ), late nineties.

Was out of this world, (literally) trembling on my legs and completely high in my mind, for more than one hour afterwards.

No other artist nor band ever did that to me (not before, not after).

Speaking of the Pretenders, they were a great opening act for the Stones at Giants Stadium in 2002....and of course Keith solo was great; saw him in 88 at the Tower Theater and at the Meadowlands Arena.

The Call then Peter Gabriel at Poplar Creek, Chicago, 02 Aug, 1982.

I believe it was Robert Fripp or one of the band members dressed in black spandex and wearing a helmet tried to buy beer. The chick wouldn't serve him since he didn't have any ID until people starting screaming then she caved in.

Drama at the concession stand in the old days.

I forgot to add The Dillards to my list - I saw them in the early '80's at Lincoln Jr. High school in the auditorium.
These dudes were old school Bluegrass legends and to see them in a jr. High school auditorium was surreal (capacity 550).

"Though The Dillards were already an established bluegrass band,
their biggest claim to fame is performing musically as members
of the fictional Darling family on The Andy Griffith Show,
introducing bluegrass to many Americans who had never heard it".

Live Aid in Philadelphia was my most memorable non Stones concert.

Led Zeppelin at the Garden in 77

George Thorogood at the Garden, not sure what year it was but it was the first time he played the Garden and he was truly humbled to be headlining there. It was nice to see a performer truly appreciative of his own luck. It was like watching the movie where the underdog gets the girl.

Bruce at Giants stadium in 83 or 84.

Stray Cat's.....Brian Setzer just amazing.

How did you swing that? I've tried twice and both times the shows were cancelled.

Now I could go on as I have been to about 2,000 shows but the 2 single best shows I have seen in my life are

Rammstein at the Palace in 1998

and

Michael Monroe in San Diego 2010

The Who with Entwistle not sure of the year, maybe 1999, at The House of Blues in Chicago. I think they played between 26 to 30 songs. Several they never played again.

Bob Dylan at The Park West in Chicago for two back to back shows again not sure
of the year but probably late 90's. Different setlist for each show.

X playing four nights at the City Winery in Chicago. Each night playing a different album. I belive 2014.

The Stones at the Aragon in Chicago. The room was hot and the band was on fire that night. This was one of the club shows from 2002 or 2003 and near the beginning of the tour.

It's difficult to say because I sometimes find it difficult to distinguish between a truly great performance and a perfectly ordinary performance that, for any number of reasons, I found to be immensely enjoyable.

The Ian Anderson concert at which I sat front row center and played a kazoo solo into Ian's microphone while he had his arm around my shoulder probably sucked .... but how could I possibly remember it as anything other than one of the "best" concerts I've ever been to?

Anyway, a few that come immediately to mind ....

The Who, Madison Square Garden - 1979
Pink Floyd, Yankee Stadium - 1994
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Palace of Auburn Hills - 1998
Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, Schottenstein Center - 2009
