Fan injured in fall at Rolling Stones concert

(Boston - AP) — A woman attending the Rolling Stones concert at Fenway Park is seriously injured.

A fire department spokesman says the woman climbed to the rafters above Section One in the right field grandstand.

Lieutenant David Pfeil says the woman was seen hanging from the rafters at about 10:15 p-m before she fell 35 or 40 feet.

He says the woman apparently climbed up to the rafters during the concert. Witnesses tell Boston television stations that the woman was in the rafters for some time before she fell. Her name has not been released.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She was conscious and talking at the time, according to broadcast reports.

Pfeil did not disclose the nature of her injuries.

The news link in that article is reporting:

"...A woman attending the Rolling Stones concert at Fenway Park is seriously injured..." from that AP link...

*****************************************

Regardless if she's an "idiot" or not, let's all hope for her recovery....

From the article I wonder if she was even in the onstage seating... she might have been up in the nosebleeds somewhere up near the top rim of the stadium where the bud sign was accessible...

It's people like this who, through selfishness and stupidity, spoil it for the rest of the fans. When you arrive at the second show of the tour and find that the stage is shrouded in barbed wire, everyone has to wear seatbelts and you're not allowed to wave then you will all know why...

Let's just hope that they don't over-react to this silly womans actions. In the present day litigation wolrd you never know what will happen - let rock and roll prevail!

This was a suicide attempt, even if she didn't really ment to. You must be one stupid @#$%& to even attempt such a thing when the greatest band on earth is playing their set.

well I hope she wasnt one of those fans who paid $450 for a ticket and then wasnt happy with the setlist....

I got the impression she WASNT in the "on stage" area, though - is this correct?

"well I hope she wasnt one of those fans who paid $450 for a ticket and then wasnt happy with the setlist...."

hahahahahahahaha.
Classic Gazza yet again.
I even read it to my wife and she is still chuckling after reeling with laughter.

That said, and for all her stupidity, I wish her well and a full and speedy recovery.

Limbo you slut and IORR legend!!!

My wife laughed at your comment too....but only after I showed her some of your previous posts! I vouched for you and she came down on your side.
Lucky I'm your mate.

She's actually a jury member of you're pending trial for "bad taste but piss funny humour", the charge that carries (as you well know) five years in a Duran Duran facility.

It's in the bag mate.
The jury's hung.

:0)

Have you ever lent somebody $20 and never seen them again? It was probably worth it.

what i've read sounds like she wasn't one of the "onstage" people.
i imagine the onstage area is well-stocked with security types who would stop that kind of thing anyway, even if there's a way to climb up into "rafters" from there.

And what about that guy who got on stage? Was he knocked out by Keiths Telecaster?

perhaps the jumper and stage invader were related, and they did it for a bet.

The guy on stage just appeared out of nowhere, playing air guitar on a broom. Mick was at the far end of stage right and the guy started working his way in that direction. Seemed like Blondie was the first to notice him and call attention to him. He was quickly tackeled by a couple of stage hands. It did not appear as though Mick, Keith, or any of the performers except for Blondie, Lisa, Bernard, Chuck were in a position to see him or know it took place.

Was a young black guy, shirtless with what looked like his shirt wrapped around his head. First I thought he was part of the act or one of the "Black-eyed Peas". It brought to mind Meredith Hunter, though more comical than threatening.

I love all the bashing here. Lets see.... if a guy did it it would have recieved comments like 'what an animal'...'real party dude'. He would have bragging rights for the metal pins in his ankles...but no... a woman did it and I won't repeat some of the comments.

Funniest scaffold climd I've seen: Watkins Glenn, 1973, 620.000+ croud, world's largest sound system. The show is to be opened with the Greatfull Dead. Just before start up a shirtless longhair climbs the tower stage left. He makes it to a bank of speakers about half way up. He gets on his stomach and leans from his waist down, hanging upside down with his face directly into the speaker fabric, this is real front row. So a guy gets on the mike an says they will not be starting the show till the guy gets down, of course he hears this message louder than anybody and just waves without moving to continue on and don't worry about me. The contrast of one fan holding up the worlds largest rock concert, in full view, and just wavigng acknowledgements. A couple of staff finaly climbed up and escorted his down to thunderous applause.

Anyway here's to the party chick, what an animal, be proud of all that reconstructive metal.

It weren't no suicide attempt! She was trying to get to the stage to plead w/Mick and Keith NOT to play "Tumbling Dice" AGAIN!!!

I'm pretty sure the setlist (or at least "Miss You") drove her to attempt suicide....
