Phil Lynott, not former of but star of Thin Lizzy, is now portraied as a bust in central Dublin.

"As hundreds of fans looked on, Lynott's mother, Philomena, and Dublin's Lord Mayor, Catherine Byrne, unveiled the life-size sculpture on Harry Street, just off Grafton Street." Quoted from [www.rte.ie]

There also was a tribute concert to Lynott:

"at the Point Theatre in Dublin. Gary Moore, Eric Bell, Brian Downey, Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson, Brush Shiel[d]s, Wheatus and Therapy are all set to perform at the event." (ibid)

A great tribute to Phil. Lizzy sure produced alot of great guitarists. Brian Robertson went on to join Motorhead and John Sykes joined Whitesnake.
Metallica released an awesome version of Whisky In The Jar.

Gary Moore is another "semi-famous" guitarist; as is "guitarist" Midge Ure who has hopped in once in a while (must have been refreshing changing from Ultravox to Lizzy and reverse). We shall not either forget Eric Bell. But m y fav one is Scott Gorham... !
