Re: Everbody thinks BB will be a killer album after listening to the samples?

In the words of gaz- "It's a beaut"!

This will be a memorable piece no doubt. Too many raw guitars and stripped down kick ass vocals to not give us pause regarding how this one will stack up to the rest of the stones catalog. I feel that the Keith songs are probably some of the more strongest contributions to this effort which only accentuates the point that this will be a beast of an album.

But honestly, I don't give a rats ass about billboard top 20 or how this plays on mainstream radio-from what I've heard (RJ and BOMH, plus the samples) thus far this baby will shine for all stones fans far and wide!!

See you folks in Detroit, I'll be in the "crossfire" t-shirt, section E, 11th row.

And just so you know T&A/StonesTod, I'm considering a Frisco show just to come out and meet you and all the folks who gave 87% to Kerry-Rock on Dude!!! I'll let you know if I get my ticket so we can grab lunch together smiling smiley

Rough Justice is a throw-a-way........I don't think so Mr Tod.....you're in the minority on that opinion.

he's entitled to his opinion and its as valid as anyone's as its down to personal taste (even if I happen to disagree with him)

The very first time I heard RJ, a big smile came across my face that hasn't been there for a very long time upon the first listening of a new Stones song. I haven't felt this strong about a new Stones song since Start Me Up. I also liked the recorded version of the ONNYA much better than the Press Conference version. Mr. Tod is certainly entitled to his opinion. Bullocks.....I really like that expression.....it's right up there with "rubbish."

- Hey, you stole my line.
Ask Mick how long BS took to write? Or most of the other classics & warhorses, huh?
Gillan how long Highway Star took?
Morrison how long Light My Fire-lyrics took? Manzarek the organ figure?
And speaking Bollocks: How many days sat John Lydon composin Anarchy In The UK?
Who My Generation? Leiber-Stoller, Willie Dixon,
Robert Johnsson och Mr Morganfield his classics etc etc

Please go find a dietist for your sour stomachs.
(and yes; everybody have thir right to an opinion,
but some people n-e-v-e-r get satisfies.)

Duane in H- A bit harsh don't you think? And it doesn't take a year or two for people to shelf an album if its shit (as you give the impression BiBg will be)-that usually happens right away in most of my experiences. Of course in Houston, with Charlie Daniels and Molly Hatchet as your benchmark, I can readily see why you might meander a bit before deciding whether or not to shelve a music piece (BTW, I love Molly Hatchet smiling smiley!!)

Well, you maybe right, Gazza.
I once was undefeatable at the Doors; but its too late.
Still ol´ James Douglas wrote a great deal of banalities.
But Kriger´s mostly distinctable in this matter.
Until we get corrected, I´d say you´re right.
But it took 10 or 15 minutes, that I remember.
Didnt Stone (!) put that in the movie as well.

Maybe your right BB Cd but again timing is everthing

Now with the war on and the world in turmoil so much of this fun is needed

and so is the political outspokenesss

and raw blues

When B-B came out it did not get ths publicity or I think anticipation

Not saying not good but how much of the 60's theme music would have done well in another era/

"ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE." Don;t think say

Funny Stones Music in the 60's was much more realestic about shape of the world while a lot of bands where preaching Idealism, they were singing 19th nervous breakdown Can't get no satisfaction Paint it Black Mothers little helper
You can't always get what you want. ETC

That is whyI think so much of there music was not appreciated to later and why they peaked when innocense was boken in the late 60's early 7o's
Fumnny a lot of songs that now are classics were not big chart toppers back then.

They were ahead of there time

watergate etc. brought to late many things....Hippie movement faded,

I think this CD is very important and timing perfect.

B-B very good but I think this one will be more reflective and vital

Time will tell

I agree with Stones Tod Rough Justice is a throwaway rocker that would not have fitted on the Stones best albums but at the same time it's still far more enjoyable than much of the Stones output in the last 20 years. Streets Of Love while by no means a classic is also a cut above much of the Stones (and solo Mick's) more recent output. Some of the other snippets of songs sound very promising indeed. It's been an awful long time since i truly enjoyed a Stones release but i think this album may change all that.
The Stones sound to me they've got the balance right this time round sounding quite contemorary but in a typical Stones like way. They don't sound like they're trying too hard to incorporate new sounds and they sound vital and fresh. It's the first time in an awful long time they sound relevant today and i wouldn't be surprised if the album doesn't uncover one or two future Stones classics and prior to hearing these new snippets i'd have said that was just about impossible.

Is the title "A Bigger Bang" intended to remind of "Beggars' Banquet"?

I think it is one upping U2's bomb. RJ is the best song since OHTTB.

IMHO it's not quite as good as BATR

"Dangerous Beauty" sounds like an unfinished demo in the 30 second snippet presented. "Neo-con" will get headlines which I'm sure was its intent, but it sounds like the crappiest song on the album regardless of whether or not you agree with its content. Right up there with "Highwire."
